Fantastic week spent in Callakille. Beautiful little cottage. Wonderful scenery whose colors and light change as the hours go by, relaxing view on the sea while enjoying a meal in the kitchen and some interesting wildlife around. Weather cold and very windy so a bit chilly at times inside. We had to have the electric heaters on permanently during the day. The log burning stove could probably do with an upgrade to provide more heat. Fantastic week spent there overall. Highly recommended.

So excited, just booked Callakille for the second time. We love this place and really didn't want to leave. Scenery and walks right on the doorstep, good food just ten mins away and the cottage....wow! Roll on October, for our next visit.

As regular visitors to the Highlands, Callakille was on our list as a place to stay. It wasn't the most remote place that we have stayed in but certainly the most fabulous set of changing views across to Skye, Raasay, Harris and Lewis and due to clear weather, even across to the outer Hebrides. Lovely traditional cottage, no frills and charming. Could use a bit of updating (shower tray area needs to be tidied, bathroom window that shuts properly would be good on days when the weather comes in!)

A wonderful week at the end of August in the cosy cottage at Callakille. Despite blustery weather the views were beautiful and we had a couple of lovely sunsets. Really relaxing and peaceful.

Applecross never fails to deliver. On our first morning while down on the beach I saw a seal swim by, heard a noise above, swung round the binoculars and watched an eagle being chased by two gulls, amazing. The weather was glorious, the pub welcoming and great fun as always. It truly is a place of magic, cuckoos calling, sheep bleating and the most glorious sunsets. Callakille is in the most perfect spot to enjoy all of these wonders but maybe in need of a little tlc?

My wife and I have just returned to Somerset following a wonderful week at Callakille. The weather was very kind to us, reaching an incredible 28 deg for the first 2 days. The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed. The views accross to Rona, Raasay and Skye were amazing. Watching the sunset while sitting on the cliff with a glass of wine will live long in our memories. My only concern was the state of the track leading to the cottage. The first shared section was rough in places. Owners comments: - "Highland Council are currently dealing with the matter and we hope that this section of track will be upgraded shortly"

Our second visit and another magical week in this unique part of the world - dolphins, seals, eagles, deer, sheep, peace, tranquillity, great pub with warm and friendly welcome from all, some of whom have become good chums. Only quibble, as ever, please take away the shower and give us a bath to soak in after all the exertions of the day - even a small one in the corner would do the job! We shall return.

Callakille was unreal! The cottage was beautifully designed, well stocked and the view all around was dreamy. We had never sleep as well as we did during our stay it was hard to leave. I can not recommend this cottage enough to anyone who would like a cosy and unique getaway. Being close to Applecross Inn was a treat too. Try the Fish & Chips they are so good! The Bealach na Ba was a really fun drive too and great view from the peak! Worth the travel from Canada ;D

We had an amazing break over hogmany at Callakille. The cottage is so gorgeous and cosy and the Applecross area is stunning. I would recommend it to anyone. Wilderness Cottages also made the booking process very easy.

Just had a fantastic week at Callakille. The setting is incredible with views to die for. We had a mix of weather but it really didn't matter. Sitting in the cottage with the fire lit and looking out at the ever changing view was wonderful. When we did venture out Sand Bay nearby is a gorgeous beach and our kids had great fun climbing the huge sand dune. The pub at Applecross is good as is the Potting Shed which does lovely food. The cottage itself is cosy and characterful - the perfect escape.
