The cottage may be approached either via Ullapool on the A835 or via Lairg on the A838. ( Many of these roads are single track with passing places, which also allow overtaking.)
From Ullapool: take the A835 to Ledmore, the A837 to Skiag Bridge and the A894, through Unapool, to Scourie. Continuing for 3 miles on the A894, turn left to Tarbet. Fanagmore is one mile beyond Tarbet. Hill Cottage is on the hillside ahead beyond two gates. ( Please keep the gates closed at all times )
From Lairg: take the A838 along Loch Shin to Laxford Bridge. Turn left onto the A894. After 4 miles, turn right to Tarbet. Then as above to Hill Cottage.
Allow 2 1/2 hours travelling time from Inverness to Hill Cottage in total.
