Locations include Drumnadrochit, Fort Augustus, Inverness, South Loch Ness.

Just east of Loch Ness, is an area known as Stratherrick, a region that stretches from Dores at the northern end of Loch Ness to Fort Augustus at the southernmost tip of the loch. This area of the Scottish Highlands has been described as the Inverness “Lake District”, so numerous are the lochs and lochans in this region of the Highlands of Scotland. this is where we are based and where we started Wilderness Cottages.

Through a very rigorous cottage selection process that rates cleanliness, quality, and value for money above all else, we offer you self catering cottages throughout the Inverness and Loch Ness area, all of which have been inspected by us personally. We have a variety of sizes from, small cosy cottages for 2, ideal for honeymoon couples, and romantic holidays, up to, large holiday cottage to sleep 14, for large family parties and groups of friends. Our large holiday home has disabled facilities and is wheelchair friendly, so is an excellent choice for disabled visitors. The cottages provide excellent year round holiday accommodation, many have log fires which add instant romantic atmosphere to an intimate night in. Wilderness Cottages, particularly on the south side of the loch have become a very popular honeymoon destination, as well as a favourite with dog owners. Most of the cottages have a pets welcome policy:- well, it is ideal countryside for walking dogs! We're sure that you too, will fall in love with this part of Scotland and will want to return time and again, just as lots of our honeymoon couples do, year after year, for anniversaries, often bringing their new families with them.
