For a couple, planning a cottage holiday in Glencoe, Bothan Beag cottage is an excellent choice, in both value for money and location. It is a 200 year old traditional cottage situated in the beautiful and historic village of Glencoe, now available to you for self catering cottage holidays in one of Scotland's most infamous glens. Rich in history and, to this day, totally unspoiled and unchanged, you see it now, as it has been for countless generations before you.
The area is a haven for those who are keen on outdoor pursuits. Glencoe is a favourite destination for mountaineers and hill walkers alike, with many fine Munros in close proximity, making it especially popular with experienced climbers for winter mountaineering. A short distance from the cottage is the famous Aonach Eagach ridge for the intrepid, but there are also many low level walks on the doorstep to suit all ages and abilities. No need to feel intimidated by the high peaks, when you can traverse the low level passes and enjoy the company of the giants of Glencoe.
The cottage, a former croft house, is small, a perfect size holiday home for two, and provides privacy and seclusion with awe inspiring views to the dramatic Glencoe mountains. It has a lounge, one double bedroom, a shower room and fully equipped kitchen. Just 5 minutes walk from Glencoe village shop and Post Office. Also within walking distance of the cottage are many sites of historical interest, as well as a variety of eating places. Within a few minutes drive are three of the top restaurants in Scotland.
Glencoe village sits on the shore of Loch Leven where you will find a variety of water pursuits including an RYA sailing school, a yacht charter and boat hire facility. There is plenty of fishing close to the cottage and fishing permits, where applicable, can be obtained locally. You will find details in the cottage information book.
For days out, there is a wide choice of places and attractions within easy driving distance of Glencoe. Half an hour away to the south is Oban, with ferry trips to the pilgrim Isle of Iona, as well as Mull, Colonsay, Coll and Tiree. Half an hour north brings you to Fort William. From there you can take the steam train to Mallaig, one of the worlds great train journeys, or access Caledonian canal and loch cruises. Just north of Fort William is the gondola which takes you high into the Ben Nevis mountain range where you can ski, walk or just enjoy the panoramic views over a meal in the restaurant at the top. This is also the home to the Nevis Range world championship mountain bike course and when conditions are right during the winter months you can enjoy some superb skiing and mountain boarding sport.

The cottage is small, self contained and is an ideal base for couples wanting to get away from it all.
You will find the cottage equipped with the following facilities for your stay.

- Colour TV, DVD and radio for your entertainment.
- Kitchen equipment includes; electric oven, hob and grill, fridge with a small freezer compartment, washing machine and tumble dryer, microwave and toaster.
The bedroom has a double bed. Shower room. - Electricity, bed linen and towels are included in the price.
There is a small shed adjacent to the cottage for bikes or fishing rod storage.
Good Housekeeping Deposit of £50.00 required.
