Fort Augustus & South Loch Ness

Homewood, Invermoriston - Loch Ness

Homewood - Glenmoriston - Loch Ness.  Sleeps 4 - Log Fire - Pets welcome.

Homewood - a comfortable, homely cottage overlooking Loch Ness. It is constructed of rough sawn timber taken from the forests of the Glenmoriston Estate. A warm welcome awaits you at this cottage in the highlands for as long as you choose to stay.

We welcome pets and children (or both!!) but the cottage is not ideally suitable for children under 4 years of age. The garden is fully enclosed providing a safe environment. The cottage backs onto 5 acres of unfenced woodland.

This former Ghillies cottage, gives an ideal base to explore the highlands and islands. Less than a mile away, the small village of Invermoriston offers a craft and gift shop, post office, and recently refurbished hotel/ tavern offering traditional Scottish fare.

This prime location offers opportunities for a wide range of activities including rambling, cycling, horse riding, fishing http://www.fishing-uk-scotland.com/htm/highlands2.htm  canoeing, golf, to mention just a few! In winter you are less than forty miles from the Nevis range ski resort. If these are not for you, then why not take advantage of the extraordinary flora, fauna, wildlife & scenery! In addition the area is bursting with historical interest.

27 miles to the north you have the highland capital, Inverness.  Drumnadrochit and the famous Urquhart castle are only 12 miles away. To the south is the small old town of Fort Augustus only 7 miles. Fort William with the highest mountain in Britain (Ben Nevis) and the Isle of Skye are also within easy reach. At the end of a long day exploring the beauty of the Scottish Highlands with its Lochs, Mountains, Forests and Glens why not sit back and relax in comfort, read a book, play a board game, watch a DVD or just sip a wee dram in front of the log burning stove.

In the warm summer evenings simply take in the beautiful views across the Loch and watch the sunset.
