Curlew Croft is a newly built self catering holiday cottage situated on the Croft formerly owned by the Author Katharine Stewart, identified in her book 'A Croft in the Hills'. The Croft has all been furnished with quality and comfort in mind and the cathedral style ceilings in the open plan living area and the very large window in the lounge, give the cottage a lovely spacious feel. With oil fired central heating and a wood burning stove the cottage is perfect for any time of year.

Curlew Croft holiday cottage is 1000 ft above sea level and is just 3 miles north of Loch Ness set within a triangle of countryside between Inverness, Beauly and Drumnadrochit (all are only about a 20 minute drive away). The cottage offers extensive views across miles of rolling farmlands and wide open skies to the rugged beauty of Strathfarrar, Glen Affric mountains and Ben Wyvis. Curlew Croft offers a secluded, tranquil haven from the outside world, perfect for your honeymoon or ideal for those wishing to walk, cycle (the Great Glen walking and cycling route passes close by), fly fish on Loch Lait (within walking distance of the cottage across the moorland), sail on Loch Ness, read, write, paint or to watch the wildlife.

The Moray coast is within an hours drive and offers many sandy beaches and at Fortrose on the Black Isle, you can do a spot of dolphin watching. Boat trips are also available to see the dolphins from Inverness and Avoch. Culbin forest is a great place to explore either on foot or cycling, and the castles at Brodie and Cawdor are definitely worth a visit as is Grantown and Spey valley with its Whisky trail. If you wish to explore farther afield then you can visit Skye, Fort William, Ullapool and the west coast, John O'Groats, the list is endless and all can be done within the day, but the betting is you won't wander far.

Curlew Croft is single storey, open plan with Scottish oak flooring and exposed beams.

• Lounge area with satellite TV (basic free to view package), DVD player.
• The dining area is in front of the large window, which offers views over farmland and the mountains of Glen Affric and Strathfarrar, particularly stunning when covered in snow.
• In the centre of the cottage is the log fire.
• Kitchen with electric range cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities.
• Spacious double bedroom with king size bed, en-suite shower room.
• Twin room (2 singles).Travel cot and high chair available on request.
• Bathroom includes bath with shower over, wash hand basin and toilet.

Towels are not included but can be hired at £5.00 per person per set.
