Chapel House is situated in the small village of Eskadale, the house was formally the manse for the local Church of St. Mary's. The property has now been refurbished and equipped to a high standard by the present owner, and makes and ideal base to explore Glen Cannich and the surrounding area.

Chapel House a wonderful traditional house has much charm and is situated overlooking the River Beauly and the land which adjoins the house, runs down to the banks of the river. The owners have two Highland cows Heather and Flora and these are kept in the fields here. Eskadale is a sparsely populated community and therefore makes Chapel House a truly wonderful place to relax and let the stresses of modern day living float away.

There is plenty of opportunity here to see an abundance of wildlife. With three of the most beautiful glens on your doorstep you will have ample opportunity to explore some of Scotland’s wild county. Glen Affric has been declared a National Nature reserve and you will have the chance to see a variety of wildlife, which could include Osprey, Golden Eagles, Capercaillie, Ptarimagan, Badgers, Otters, Pine martens and of course all species of deer, along with many smaller birds that could include Crossbills and Crested tits. If you visit Glen Cannich or Strathfarrar you will begin to understand the meaning of ‘remote’.

Glen Strathfarrar with its large area of ancient Caledonian pine forest and huge population of red deer continues the wildlife spotting opportunities while Glen Cannich boasts one of the largest dams and rugged scenery. All three glens offer the walker numerous choices from forest trails to more strenuous munros. Nearby Reelig Glen with Britain’s tallest tree and Abriachan community wood, with feature forest trails offer alternative walking experiences.

For the cyclists there are many quiet roads and hill tracks locally whilst the golfers amongst you can take in the scenery as you play at Aigas or one of a number of courses within a 40 mile radius. The beautiful village of Beauly is a short distance from Chapel House and offers a range of shops, crafts and restaurants. In the area of the old market square is a 13th century priory and Visitor Centre displaying local history, information and weaving exhibition. Also in the village is the House of Beauly a centre for Scottish arts, crafts and food products. Glen Ord distillery is in the locality and can be visited by prior arrangement while Moniack Castle Wineries are also close by for a visit.
