Creag nah Iolaire has the most breathtaking view of Loch Ness. A detached property perched high on the hill above Drumnadrochit, where you can enjoy the local amenities. The cottage is set on a working farm and popular horse riding centre.

I almost don't want to post a review as if people go here they will just keep coming back and the place will be booked forever... It was stunning - panoramic views, so well-appointed, warm even in winter, with such a friendly and helpful host/owner, riding close by (I would highly recommend even a beginner trying to ride at Borlum)close to Castle Urquhart and Loch Ness, decent convenience stores in Drumnadrochit (and a great Highland gift shop) and half an hour from lovely Inverness. Unbeatable.

Aros Beag formerly a stables and coach house retains many of its original features. It is well equipped to provide luxury accommodation in its own grounds next to the River Fillan. It is ideal for exploring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

we had such a lovely time at the cottage, really cosy-the underfloor heating makes it very comfortable and we liked the attention to detail - the bath is big enough for two! the hamper on arrival is a lovely gesture and the owners very helpful - we will hopefully return again soon!

We had the most wonderful holiday at Mealishal in mid-September 2011. It was our first family holiday with our twin boy and girl who had just started walking and our two springers. Mealishal could not have been more perfect. A fully enclosed garden to run and play in safely, the Dores Inn close at hand for a drink and a meal and lovely walks through the forest and along the Loch shore. The property itself is beautiful and well facilitied. Already booked for 2012!

Marnie's Croft, a detached property set in attractive gardens has magnificent views of Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. The cottage is private and secluded, so lots of wildlife to be seen in the garden. It is also a great place for 'Nessie' spotting.
06/01/2012Jules & Nathan Hutchinson
We have been to Marnie's Croft many times over the past 8 years. Totally love going to stay there, and hope to for many more years. Even with a 4x4, we still struggled too get up and down the hill. However this did not spoil our holiday at all, but gave us a little more excercise. Only thing I would love to change, is the dog policy, as we have 2 dogs and they would love it there. Could never tire of looking at the view, and watching for the deer in the woods. If you have never been, you must go.

No complaints even when we got stuck for an extra hour due to the snow as this allowed us to meet the owners personally. Nothing but praise for the property, quality of finishing's, room sizes and layout. Have already made temporary plans to return and have sung the praises to many friends too. An absolute joy for my wife and I to have almost all our family with us at the New Year, magical.

We have just had the privilege of being the very first guests and what a fantastic time we had. The property and location can only be described as 5 star. Sympathetically renovated to an exceptionally high standard, the cottage wants for nothing. You can be assured of a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Plenty of walks in and around the area whether it be to see the beautiful Falls of Foyers or off the beaton track through the many surrounding forests and all on the doorstep!

Fantastic house, everything you could want. The garden was perfect for the dog, very large and enclosed. It's in a very quiet little village on the banks of Loch Ness but within easy driving distance to Inverness. We've already booked again for next year as we enjoyed it so much. Would recommend it to anyone.

Bayside Cottage has been recently renovated and is only a few feet from the sea shore. The cottage provides comfortable accommodation with an open fire and offers views across the Inner Sound. It is well suited to explore the Applecross peninsula.
01/12/2011Tim + Deborah Martin
Simply glorious. Cottage is abundantly well-provided, only a few yards from the outstanding Applecross Inn and in a staggeringly beautiful setting. Two aspects made our stay so memorable - doggy heaven for our two cocker spaniels, from Bonios on arrival to beach and hillside walks; and the weather in November - dry, warm and clear. A must to return, to enjoy the solitude and grandeur of the area.

The Coltsfoots is situated in a woodland setting, just a short distance from the village of Fort Augustus. The newly completed log cabin imported from Sweden is well equipped and has been furnished to a high standard.

Stayed end October 2011. Our first stay in a log home and this is the best we have seen. Beautifully furnished and fully equipped. Really is just 10 minutes walk from the village with just one short steepish hill en route, and lots of nice walks close by. Dogs loved it. One word of warning look out for the woodburner. On our first night after an hour we had to open the french doors and windows to let the heat out. We then limited ourselves to 3 logs at once. Boathouse Restaurant was lovely.

Balmachree is situated on the south side of Loch Ness and provides self catering for the larger family. Ideal for the outdoor enthusiast with opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing and wildlife spotting.
25/11/2011mr & mrs Preece
our long weekend break at Balmachree was excellent, the cottage was very nice/clean and comfortable in a very quiet area, our 2 dogs loved the freedom in the large garden, the pub served excellent food and was very welcoming. The only issue was the wood burner that must have had a blockage in the flue as it filled the living room with smoke.

A late booking, the helpful staff at wilderness helped a very stressed me find a wonderful holiday. The cottage was clean, warm, well decorated and very homely. Well stocked with books, DVD's and a great view. We loved the walk across the fields to our 'private beech' flask of hot chocolate and endless views, who could want for more. Lovely home cooking at the wonderful pubs and amazing walking. A real home from home. A very special part of Scotland, unexpected beauty, could happily live there.

The Coach House occupies the upper floor of the former stables and livery block. The huge picture window in the lounge offers stunning views of Loch Ness. There are numerous walks directly from the property to make the most of this stunning area.
10/11/2011Elizabeth Newell
Coach House was our favorite lodging on our five week trip to the UK. We found both the house and the hostess lovely. Even though I had read about the picture window looking out to Loch Ness, when we walked in, it stopped us in our tracks. This incredible view was ours to enjoy for a week! We also loved the kitchen, which was the best we've ever had in a vacation rental. The bedrooms were very a good size, and the furniture was all comfortable. The owner was lovely too. We hope to return.

A lovely cottage on a quiet farm track with fabulous views of the Irish Sea. We were grateful to be able to take our two dogs on holiday with us, the labrador loved swimming in the beautiful bays nearby and the springer spaniel cleared up a few straying partridge for the local shoot! Well equipped cottage with two log burners that were not really required due to the excellent central heating. We were grateful for the provisions left in the fridge and fresh flowers.

We really enjoyed our stay in Katie's Cottage. The cottage was even more beautiful in real life. It was so well equipped and had everything that we needed. The wood burning stove kept us and our little dog cosy on the cold October evenings and made the cottage feel like a home from home. The village of Glendale was about a mile from the cottage and the local shop had everything you might need and more. We would definitely return to Katie's Cottage.

Glenara a traditional cottage situated on the banks of the River Oich and just minutes from the village of Fort Augustus. This delightful little cottage is perfect for a couple or small family.
01/11/2011Ian Chadwick
We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy little cottage. It was just as described and lovely and clean. The cottage is only stone's throw from the locks on the Caledonian canal and has a beautiful view from the back garden - which in itself is lovely. The kitchen has everything you need if cooking on holiday. I agree that the shower is a little awkward but not a great problem. Handy for local eateries, but be warned, I we thought they were a bit pricey. In all though, a great place to stay!
