Homely, warm, comfortable, well equipped, with amazing views and with lots to do in the surrounding area and in a very friendly village. One niggle - no WiFi. It just seems wrong in this day and age.
Seascape Cottage
This cottage is really the most perfect place to unwind and just get away from it all. The cottage is beautiful, cosy and with everything you need to fully appreciate its location. The owner, Sarah is lovely so welcoming and adding those little touches which just make the holiday that bit more special. This has been our sixth visit to Seascape and despite some rain we have been out every day for at least 4 hours walking along this beautiful coastline. The views are spectacular and we have had a couple of stormy days where the waves have been crashing onto the rocks which was amazing to watch and fantastic to photograph. We have not seen as much of the seals this year but the deer have been right outside the door several times each day. We have toasted Marshmallows by the sea, played pooh sticks under the little bridge ,played hide and seek among the rocks and rounders on the beach. There really is something for everyone. Arrivain Cottage is a wonderful place to stay - so comfortable and cosy, with some lovely touches. It is surrounded by hills/mountains and has a brook running next to it. Perfectly located for Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, as well as the Highlands and the west coast. Jacqui and Jeff are great hosts, always on hand if you need it but otherwise leave you to your own peace and quiet. They are rightly proud of Arrivain and we would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

This is a beautiful, faithful renovation of an old byre with a stunning panoramic view of the 5 Sisters of Kintail from the comfort of a luxuriant interior. Being off the beaten track, it is tranquil, yet you are within an hour's reach of Skye and Torridon. I'm very much looking forward to returning...

Delightful property in a lovely location. Well equipped and comfortable. Loved the sense of isolation, great views. Surroundings immediate and further afield within the national park accessible and great for exploring this beautiful area. Patience will reward you with wildlife sightings, red squirrels, deer, eagles and smaller birds of prey.

Stable Cottage
Great place and an Aga as a bonus! Very comfortable and well appointed. The grounds of the estate are good for walks and the surrounding area for drives. Portpatrick for a nice harbour town and Stranraer for shopping.

We have just returned from a short break at Learag Culbokie. The cottage was well appointed and with modern and tastefully chosen furniture. Everything was scrupulously clean with all modern amenities such as dish washer, large tv with sound bar etc. Most appreciated was the generous welcome pack containing rolls, butter, jam, chocolate and crisps. The accommodation is very new and is situated in a quiet and peaceful area alongside the owners house. It gives a good base for touring the area. All in all we were delighted to have found this gem.

Simply perfect place! Cottage is full of character, immaculately clean, warm, and couldn't be in a more perfect location. The views are outstanding, the surrounding area beautiful. Plenty of walks to be had, close by and further afield. Dog heaven!

Cameron's Cottage
This is the second time I have booked with Wilderness Cottages. My first hiring on the Isle of Skye last year was fantastic. I expected a similar service this year and eagerly booked Cameron's Cottage for a two week October half term break almost 6 months to go. Unfortunately, the property owners cancelled our second week booking (as well as the next week's hiring) with less than 48 hours notice from our arrival time and offered no explanation or apology, despite frequenting their coffee shop. Whilst I can not fault either the standard of the property or the efforts of the Wilderness Cottages team to help find us a short notice replacement, this experience changed our holiday.

Lovely house in a fantastic location. Wildlife great, as usual. The area and the whole island was far busier than we have ever seen it, but could still find some tranquility, just not as readily. Hope to be back soon.

Fabulous house with exceptional views. The house had been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. Bed extremely comfortable and everything available for a great stay. I would highly recommend if you like peace and quiet with 5-6 good restaurants all within 30 minutes drive.

What a fantastic little hiddy hole! Very clean and very homely! Hosts are so welcoming and kind! A real must if you wish see Loch Ness, can really recommend it! Eatery's recommend pizza, Chinese, the Bothy and a fab cafe in Invermoriston! Enjoy xx

The accommodation was a joy to stay in. It was perfect for my 3 children (aged 6, 9 and 10), wife and I. The bbq house was an added bonus. I would strongly recommend the accommodation and village. We like to stay in different places but we will definately come back again!

We have just returned after a week on the Isle of Skye staying at The Orchids in Colbost. The property was very clean and tidy and well equipped. It was also situated in a lovely area of Skye, stunning views from the property and with Otters and Eagles all viewed from the property itself. Great cottage. Really well and thoughtfully equipped, lovely and warm, great birdlife all around. A couple of miles outside Killin, accessible by road or bike and walking track, and plenty of beautiful scenery and great walking nearby.

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Cottage. It is immaculately presented and spotlessly clean with lots of special extra touches. The owners should be very proud of themselves. It is much better than the photographs. The garden is a really decent size and is totally secure. Take lots of bird food and red squirrel food. We had two red squirrels every day. I got good close up photos of them just using the car as a hide. So many different birds on the cottages own bird feeding station. Yellowhammers which we don't see at home were a treat. Would highly recommend.

The Orchids
The Orchids is a gem of a holiday destination, and the perfect location to fall in love with the Isle of Skye. The house is rural but not remote, and has been done to a high standard, with the space for guests to spread out in comfort. Filled with games, books and entertainment even if it's a bit wet and miserable out the house is still a great place to be. I spent my time in front of the windows reading, marvelling at the view and watching for wildlife (dolphins in the bay!). We did have a minor issue with the hot water, but the host repaired it quickly and it did not impair our stay in the slightest. Not only would I recommend this house, but I would stay there again myself.

Excellent cottage. Very comfortable and with excellent facilities. Very peaceful setting but near enough to the village for a gentle stroll. Owners very helpful and friendly. We would certainly recommend Coltsfoot to our friends and family and will look forward to visit again.
Plodda Falls Lodge
We really enjoyed our week at Plodda Falls Lodge, a house steeped in history but very sympathetically modernised. Everything has been made available for your comfort and relaxation. The house is tucked deep into the countryside which appealed to us and the walks straight from the back door were wonderful. The Lodge is hosted by Jenny who was welcoming, friendly, very knowledgeable about the local area but did not intrude in any way beyond what we wanted. We arrived to find a home made cake which was much appreciated after a long journey.

We have stayed at Charleston several times and booked again already for 2022, this is the most lovely peaceful place. The cottage is 5 star.. the owners are very helpful if needed, it's the perfect retreat. Excellent all round.

Swallow Byre is a wonderful place to stay. So warm and cosy, it has everything you need on holiday. Jane the owner is lovely and made us feel so welcome. We truly enjoyed our week there. It was handy for lots of walks and the scenery is breathtaking. Lochinver is nearby and there are some delicious eateries there. We will use Wilderness Cottages again in the future as they have a great range of cottages and locations. Their website is easy to use and we received reassuring notifications after we had booked.

What a fantastic holiday home. Lovely location but only a 10 minute walk from the village. Very comfortable and clean. Owner very friendly. Plenty of wildlife to be seen.

Seal Skerry Lodge
There is no doubt that Seal Skerry Lodge is in a wonderful location and the views amazing. However, the property could do with some TLC, a memory foam topper on the mattress would make the bed more comfortable along with a little more equipment in the kitchen as you need to cook most if not all meals here as location is remote. It would be much better if a vacuum cleaner was available and some modesty blinds in some areas, especially the downstairs bathroom. Other than that we enjoyed our week in the house, it was warm and comfortable but not homely. We have stayed in the area over ten times as my husband is a keen fisherman and the fish certainly didn't disappoint.
