Port Elgol Cottage

A most fantastically situated cottage, with incomparable views ( when the cloud allowed us to see them!). It was very comfortable, and had everything we needed, especially as we spent rather more time indoors than we would have wished, owing to the wet and very windy weather. We had 1 glorious day though, which we spent on the Aquaxplore trip to Canna - a truly magical experience with dolphins, a whale and birds. A fabulous spot which we highly recommend.

Shore Cottage

Wow just Wow for location We had a loverly week at shore cottage, we loved it was off grid near enough but in driving distance to Stranraer and Port Patrick. The cottage was nice, did lack that feeling of a welcome, no welcome pack, we have stayed in many places and always had either some bread, eggs, milk, biscuits as a nice gesture this would be a recommendation, we were slightly disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage and the safety concern regards to the open fire, this needs attention and maintenance. The plus of having a conservatory was a bonus so enjoyed eating our meals in there on the wet days, sad the log burner was out of use. We loved the times sat on the decking listerning to the birds the sea and just taking in the pure peace and quiet . When the weather was good to us and clear it almost felt we could almost touch Ireland. The beach omg! What a luxury all week we hardly saw a sole only a few locals collecting seaweed, my goodness the walks were truely amazing and our little spaniel Isla loved every minute ran her little legs off but couldn't out run the deer on the beach haha. This was not just a holiday for us, but our honeymoon the location definitely made this even more special for us . The signage to the cottage could do with a refresh rewrite as we missed it several times. The driveway to the cottage is definitely not for a car but we loved it as having a 4x4 it was easy the cows went, weren't always willing to move haha. We were sad to leave but will be back for our first anniversary next year .

Seabank Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need. Location was excellent, right in the village of Lochcarron with all amenities nearby, a lovely view of the loch outside the window as you eat and well positioned for visits to Attadale, Applecross and its pass, Eilean Donan Castle, Plockton and the Isle of Skye etc.

The cottage was very comfortable and well appointed, the location spectacular even with the cows who came to check us out regularly just to see how we were settling in. We also went on some beautiful walks both woodland and coastal. Highly recommended for that "get away from it all" feeling which, I am pleased to say remains with you on your return.

We have had a wonderful time at Eilean Mor Cottage, Skinidin. The conservatory is really fine, we have sat there all the time. The WIFI is very good. The beds are a little bit to short for Dutch people (1.78, 2 x 1.87 m). The view is every day, every hour amazing. (Please, check/prune the trees). Skinidin is a perfect base to discover Isle of Skye. We have visited almost all the highlights.

Burnside Cottage at Callakille is beautiful inside and out, a spectacular location and the perfect setting to really get away from it all and wind down. If anything, the pictures don't do it justice. The Applecross peninsula is truly stunning. We loved the coziness of the cottage and it's superbly equipped so we had everything we needed to make our stay a delight - even more so the totally unexpected welcome goodies including delicious home made marmalade, thank you! We felt instantly welcome and really didn't want to leave. We'll definitely be back!

A super cottage with incredible views down across Loch Farraline and the surrounding countryside. Very spacious and well appointed and the benefit of a really large, securely fenced garden so the dogs could have a good run around. Near Portree a few miles down a single track road typical of Skye. Avoid the potholes and wandering sheep. Excellent accommodation. Feels remote but not that far from Portree. Owners very considerate with well equipped kitchen, staple supplies in stock and a few goodies which were accepted gratefully. Loved the views. It is really peaceful. Internally modern and comfortable with wood burner for the cooler days. Very much enjoyed our week's stay and will consider coming back, perhaps on route to one of the other Islands.

The Challey at Heathcote

We recently stayed for 8 nights at The Challey. It's such a lovely holiday cottage in a great location. The cottage is spotless and exceptionally well appointed with everything you could need. Super comfy bed and we were really impressed that each room had it's own thermostat to control the underfloor heating which was really useful. Loved sitting in the lounge, relaxing listening to and watching the birds come and go. It's a great place to stay if, like us, you enjoy watching wildlife which included daily visits from red squirrels and lots of birds including woodpeckers and siskins at the feeders. A short walk away is the river Spey which is stunning. There is loads to do in the area and it is also a great location for visits to Royal Deeside, the Aberdeenshire coast and further afield to Easter Ross. We would definitely recommend The Challey and Wilderness Cottages generally having booked through them several times. To sum up ... wish we were still there!

Hard to put in to words just how good Sixgeary is, as for us, it is pretty much perfect. The cottage itself is fitted out just right, great kitchen with all mod cons, comfy beds, great bathroom and cosy sitting room with log burner. Combine all of this with a location that is off the scale and you start to get close to how good Sixgeary is. Yeah, it's a bit of a hike to get to the cottage, but the peace, tranquility, the views and the sun rises are astounding! Looking to unwind? You've found the right place.

The house in Gairloch was superb in every way. We have been travelling to scotland for the past 40 yearrs and mostly stayed in cottages. We have had some beautiful and comfortable places but Ardbeg out did them all. The view and the comfortable furnishing and beds. We had a most relaxing holiday. Most of the places we stayed in had a little store cupboard such as salt or perhaps a bottle of milk to welcome us but that was such a minor point. The only other properties that was of the same standard were properties owned by Anne Sutherland in Isle of Skye and Inverness. Thank you for lovely views and comfortable house.
