Wildwood
Wildwood Cottage is a wonderful retreat for a holiday in the Highlands. We found the lodge to be very spacious, beautifully furnished and well-equipped. The location is quiet and peaceful but not far from the village of Fort Augustus. Fantastic walks on the doorstep too. Nice outdoor seating and table.
Plodda Falls Lodge
I was so lucky to have a holiday booked just as Scotland was coming out of lockdown and especially lucky to be at Plodda Falls Lodge. Thank you once again to Jenny for a lovely welcome and cake. I have visited Plodda several times now but it's everything you want from a highland holiday and more. I saw numerous deer, two pine martins and woodpecker around the lodge. The weather was Scottish but the changes it makes to the mountains surrounding the lodge is stunning and some great photos. Murphy and Kevin (Labradors) had a fab time on our walks and thanks again to Jenny for keeping me company. I can't wait to book again.
Plodda Falls Lodge
We had a wonderful week here and were even relatively lucky with the weather. Jenny is a great, welcoming host who bakes a mean Rhubarb cake. The Lodge is full of character and in a remote and peaceful location. The bird feeders provided great home entertainment particularly the Siskin, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Scotland's plumpest Chaffinches. The long walk around Loch Affric is worth every step- truly stunning. We journeyed from South Wales in an electric vehicle -Scotland is well equipped with EV charge points. Our two dogs, Monty and Minnie enjoyed the week as much as we did with the magical evening forest walks a real highlight. Thanks once again Jenny!
Pipers Lodge
The Barn, Corrimony
Excellent barn property converted to a high standard. Wonderful dog walking from the door and big enclosed garden to relax in afterwards. The owner Mamie lives nearby and was on hand to make sure our holiday ran smoothly. Great location for walks, Inverness also for local shops and fuel. Everything about the property feels new and clean. Highly recommended.
North Lodge
North Lodge is in a super secluded location on the edge of the estate if you want to get away from it all. Bed and sofas were very comfy. Lovely walks around the estate, could do with a better map marking tracks though. Good location for exploring the local area. We really enjoyed our stay and will stay again in the future. Only minor things but parts of the property could have been a bit cleaner and the water pressure was really low in the kitchen. Bird food was left for the feeders which was a nice touch. Saw red and grey squirrels, and lots of different birds on the feeders.
Toberaie
Fabulous views and walking, close enough to Nethybridge for supplies yet far enough away for splendid isolation. Own grounds good as well, friendly local estate gamekeeper. Sometime it will be good to add a sun lounge or conservatory to make full use of the wonderful setting.
Shore Cottage
We had a lovely few days at Shore Cottage. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. The situation is wonderful. We spent most of the day on the beach or sitting on the small verandah taking in the view. We hope to return.
Log Ness
Everything you could ask for and more in this holiday chalet. Amazing views, Amazing home, Amazing holiday!! The owners have made sure you will want for nothing!! Great welcome of wine for the adults and biscuits for the dogs. A short stroll to the pub, and great walks all around. Will def be back!! Thanks for sharing your home Sian and Phil x

Wonderful home full of extra special touches. The views from the house were breathtaking! Cozy, peaceful, the perfect holiday break. We will definitely be back.
Plodda Falls Lodge
We have just had a wonderful week at Plodda Falls Lodge. Jenny was there to welcome us with a delicious Christmas cake and a tree with lights on in the lounge. We immediately felt in the Christmas spirit. The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great lengths had been taken to make it Covid safe. The walks from the door were stunning and the surrounding area was well worth exploring. The dogs thought it was heaven. A perfect pre-Christmas getaway. Jenny, the owner, was delightful and on hand had there been any problems. Would definitely book to go back.
Rhundunan
We spent an excellent week here in December.. clean, fresh modern house and importantly for weather very warm. Beautiful view directly on to bay, amazing to watch many changes of light. Easy to access Dunvegan and many other locations.

A thoroughly enjoyable week spent at Seascape cottage. Very cosy and delightful to snuggle up on the sofa watching the huge rolling sea all week. Good walks from the doorstep , then interesting countryside to explore further by car. Sarah, the owner is lovely, made us feel most welcome and arranged some tasty goodies for our arrival..

Seascape Cottage
Had such a lovely relaxing break at Seascape Cottage. It had everything we needed including a friendly approachable host. Sarah was great. The cottage is warm, comfortable and quiet. Out of the door and straight onto the wild rugged west coast beach. Our 2 dogs had a ball! Would highly recommend.

South Lodge
A delightful cottage with a beautiful water frontage and view of West Loch Tarbert. The cottage was well furnished, if a little tired in places, but that didn't matter as it was warm and cosy with everything you needed. A lovely wood stove, with plentiful wood supplied and good heating in every room. Beautifully unspoilt and peaceful surroundings and a real sense the cottage was carefully looked after. A birdwatcher's heaven! Lovely private spot, I will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful week!

After spending a fantastic week at Burnside Cottage back in 2018 we were really looking forward to returning during the madness of 2020. It didn't disappoint. No otters on the shore below this time, nor a fox perched on the bench outside on ourlast night, but memorable nonetheless. The track in from the main road has just been upgraded as a precursor to renovating the Croft's other cottage, so soon we'll be spoilt for choice. Hopefully by this time the areas much promised fibre broadband will also be rolled out; the very erratic (O2) 3G signal being the only way to communicate. Some may see this digital detox as a positive, but under current circumstances being able to communicate with the outside world (booking a table at the Pub) is essential. Haste us back!
The Coltsfoots
Due to English Covid lockdown, we could not go on our planned holiday. We were delighted to able to get a last minute 3 night stay at The Coltsfoots. Previously stayed here the week before March lockdown. The property was so clean with Covid holiday property guidelines regarding cleaning etc in place. We felt safe in the property and in all Fort Augustus where pubs and cafes are also safe and strictly following guidelines.
Grain Store
The Grain store was beyond our expectations for our anniversary stay. Such a beautiful area with a magnificent view. Wildlife all around which we enjoyed. Managed to do some star photography and lovely walks. Some great recommendations thanks to the lovely couple who own the property. They made us feel so welcome, at ease, and made the place so clean. We felt safe which is a big thing with current circumstances. We made a quick video of the area and cottage just to give you a taste We hope to return again one day, thank you!
The Mill
The Cottage provided everything we wanted and more. It is well equipped comfortable and welcoming. We would recommend it highly. Julie and Phil are great hosts and made us feel very welcome.
Leachachan Barn
Gorgeous. Leachachan Barn is without doubt a wonderful example of what the northwest of Scotland has to offer in quality holiday accommodation. The barn is clean, comfortable, tasteful and very well equipped. As with any property designed by Rural Design in Portree (we've previously stayed in a few and we're very much fans) the property is very oriented towards enjoying the best views of the location. And what a location it is!! One could never tire of the views on offer, in particular the picture window looking directly at the Five Sisters of Kintail, with the ever changing light and weather creating countless different scenes of a wonderfully framed landscape. Take a photo, and I guarantee you'll be back out minutes later for another and another. For dog walkers, there is a fabulous forestry track behind the property winding effortlessly up the hill to outstanding viewpoints overlooking Loch Duich. The locale has much to offer also. For many years we've passed en route to Skye & Wester Ross, always with the intention of exploring the Glenelg Peninsula but not affording the time. With our week at Leachachan Barn, we finally got to thoroughly enjoy this headland. As a keen driver I can now add the Bealach Ratagan to my collection of special Scottish roads, it really is a joy to drive with spectacular views over Loch Duich and Skye's Sleat Peninsula with the Cuillin peaking through. For those who enjoy history there are some amazing brochs near Glenelg (the most complete examples on the Scottish mainland), ruins of the 17th century barracks, and of course Eilean Donan Castle. Hill walkers have an abundance of options (see WalkHighlands.com). Domestic provisions can be sourced without much difficulty; eggs and vegetables are on offer from neighbours in the village; there are small shops in Glenelg and Dornie, a Spar at Balmacara and if requiring more then Kyle of Lochalsh has a Co-Op, butcher, pharmacy, hardware shop, chippy, etc. A small but warm recommendation for Glenshiel Chocolates at Ratagan, a much enjoyed treat. We thoroughly enjoyed of week at Leachachan Barn, and would not hesitate to book again. This property definitely is filed under 'return in future', and is ideal for us when we're not bringing a larger party of relatives. To the owners (and whoever is tasked with preparing the property for entry), we offer our utmost thanks, it was an absolute pleasure.
Sealladh Eabhal
We loved our stay at Sealladh Eabhal. It was an exceptionally well appointed, cosy and comfortable cottage. Perfect for our stay in November. Sealladh Eabhal is on the island of Grimsay which is well placed for easy access to Benbecula, North and South Uist. It really is the ideal place to stay for exploring the islands. We very much hope to be back in future. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

A really lovely, cosy cottage in a beautiful location. Very comfortable and well-equipped and excellent value for money. Lots to do in the surrounding area and you can walk into the hills direct from the cottage. Lots of wildlife on your doorstep (and in the garden). I would wholeheartedly recommend Cluny Cottage as a perfect place to relax and enjoy the Cairngorms.

Had a brilliant week away in the Log House. Absolutely love the place. A relaxing holiday with a beautiful forest to run and walk in. Would highly recommend the Log House if you wish to chill in a wonderful setting.
Stable Cottage
Great cottage in a quiet location - ideal for anyone who wants a peaceful break in a very rural setting on a historic estate. Cottage was to a high standard throughout. We loved it!
Cnoc Ard
Great cottage in perfect location to travel north and south and get out in the Scottish wilderness. The cottage was really nicely kitted out and was warm and cosy. We absolutely loved it. Kitchen is well kitted out and secure garden for the dogs. Only criticism is a number of the lightbulbs in the bedroom for use were missing or blown when we arrived. This cottage is the perfect retreat. Just wish we could have stayed longer.
Easter Knocklea Cottage
We had a wonderful week at this superb cottage. It was spotlessly clean and fabulously well equipped. No photographs could do it justice. The location is ideal with the most glorious views and fantastic walks straight from the back door. We can't wait to return. Thank you!
Seascape Cottage
Another fabulous week in this fantastic cottage. It is the perfect place to relax and explore such a wonderful coastline. We managed at least 3 hour walks every day and to bodyboard where the seals came even closer this year. We saw so much wildlife again, including the deer and managed to release some lobsters trapped in a pot washed ashore in the storms on the Tuesday. This cottage is so wonderfully positioned for a quiet relaxing holiday and the owner Sarah is lovely, adding those little special touches even during these difficult times. We cant recommend this cottage enough, the WIFI was great and it has everything you need for a great holiday whatever the weather. We have already booked to return next year. Thank you Sarah.

We had a fantastic stay at Charleston. The house is beautiful and the setting is absolutely stunning. The dogs has a great time too and the secure garden was perfect for them. We will definitely be re-booking, thank you for a wonderful stay!
