Taffs Barn

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here at Taffs Barn. Amazing welcome (scones and hot drink supplies - just what you need after a long journey!), exceptionally clean throughout and well-equipped for a self catering holiday. Plenty of room, nice and spacious. Lovely and warm too (underfloor heating - bonus!), although we were lucky and had good weather. The views were out of this world and positioned to get the most out of the location of this property. Fantastic location to explore the Highlands of Scotland with most attractions and things to do within an hours drive or less. We will definitely be back to Taffs in the future and highly recommend it, it was perfect.

Phew, you could not ask for a more beautiful spot. 25m meander to the jetty able to wade in and wild swim. Close to Aviemore and Boat of Garten with oddles of bike trails. The cottage was well appointed and very welcoming. Only criticism and not of the cottage but of the cleaners- the kitchen was not as clean as the rest of the cottage- crumbs abounded.

We had a lovely week at the Granary, the cottage is absolutely stunning with two great sized bedrooms & his and hers bathrooms! The log burner was great when the weather turned colder and the kitchen had everything you'd need. Would thoroughly recommend.

We spent a week at Katie's Cottage and had a wonderful time. The cottage is along a quiet road but with a lovely cafe a general store nearby. We went on several walks right from our doorstep. Not necessarily the most popular ones, but stunning views everywhere.

We had such a fantastic time at Toberaie, a big Thank You! The cottage is lovingly furnished and made homely with attention to detail, one feels at home straight away. The views are breath-taking, the surrounding area is unspoilt and quiet and we have been able to go onto several hikes straight from the cottage. We will certainly like to come and visit again.

The Orchids

The orchids is a most excellent place to stay while in Skye. It was very clean, warm, inviting and of course the stand out feature is the views, absolutely stunning. We all felt so at home. I would definitely recommend this lovely house to anyone of my friends. The only very small disappointment was not being left even one dishwashing tablet, which would have been really helpful especially on the first night having arrived quite late. Otherwise amazing!!

We had a wonderful week at Seascape Cottage. Accommodation & facilities were excellent. Super clean, nice goodies on arrival, comfy beds, great shower and WIFI worked fine. Location was outstanding. Only a very short walk to the sea. Beautiful coast to explore, deserted beaches, ravines and more all within walking distance. The owner Sarah is lovely and at hand if needed. Mull of Galloway, Portpatrick and Galloway Forest Park are great places to visit, as are more quiet places like historic Whithorn (for history buffs). Highly recommend a holiday at Seascape Cottage.

Can't speak highly enough of this little cottage - fantastic situation right by the sea and thoughtfully provisioned. The weather was pretty grim during our stay so we took advantage of the games, DVDs and jigsaws. Everything we might need - and more - for cooking & eating. No complaints - even the odd access arrangement was fun! But no seals in the harbour sadly & the sea too rough for the boat trip we'd been so looking forward to.

Toberaie

Lovely cottage in a remote spot, whilst also being close enough to local shops. Lots of wildlife to see and pretty walks from the house and in Nethy Bridge. On a clear night the sky is amazing with the Milky Way visible. The golf courses at Nethy Bridge and Boat of Garton were both very enjoyable, the latter being much more of a challenge. The dog had the time of his life, but it's true what they say about the prevalence of ticks as he collected quite a number. Tick collar is a must. The cottage itself is cosy, comfortable and warm. The only downside is the oven; whilst it is usable, two of the hob rings didn't work properly and the oven door was hard to close. Everything else worked well. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay overall for a true break with peace, quiet and panoramic views Would stay again and recommend to all.

The Coltsfoots

I visit the Highlands at least once a year and have been coming to the Coltsfoots for the last seven years or so. Having always been someone who doesn't go back somewhere more than once, that in itself is a testament to what a wonderful place the cottage and Fort Augustus is for those seeking a Highland retreat with fantastic access to all over the west of Scotland. The cottage itself is superbly equipped, the shower rooms are excellent, and the cottage wonderfully warm when the weather turns chilly, especially with the log-burning stove. The hosts, the MacLennans, are lovely, helpful people and have provided a real idyll for people to stay in. I highly recommend this as the best cottage I have used in the Highlands over the last 15 years.

Eilean Mor Cottage

This cottage has a very special ambiance and the most wonderful views of the Duirnish and Waternish peninsulas of Skye, and across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides coast. All this, as well as a pretty garden with bunnies and lambs at the gate, can be enjoyed from the well-appointed conservatory. All rooms are nicely decorated and attractive, and it's great to have a discreet place outside to dry clothes. A short drive west takes you to the brilliant Glendale General Store, the most westerly such store roadlinked to mainland Britain. Further on from the store is the best place on Skye for watching cetaceans. Don't forget to visit Ravenpress Gallery, Eilean Mors nearest neighbour, for beautiful and skilful woodblock prints, many of the local area. Wilderness were very helpful all the way through. Very good experience.
