Lovely cottage (large), well equipped and warm when needed. Wonderful woodlands and walks and well situated to explore the area. Could have done a good vacuum to defeat the spider webs and dust though. Most importantly do not attempt to drive to the beach unless you have a 4x4 as treacherous for low cars, walking is recommended as it's beautiful.

This was a really lovely place to stay. I've already recommended it to others. It was beautifully appointed, and clearly a lot of thought and care had gone into it. It was spotlessly clean, lovely views, I can't rate it highly enough. Prior to booking we had a couple of queries which were quickly dealt with, during our stay there was a minor issue with the washing machine, an immediate and good response from the owner. Comfortable and lovely place, highly recommended by us

Earth House

Earth House exceeded our expectations. The two key elements of accommodation and location were perfect for us. The house is an architectural underground marvel, tucked away in the hillside right on the edge of the sea. Surprisingly light, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The location is perfect for wildlife watching. Eagles, otters and dolphins regularly seen from the comfort of the lounge. We spent ages just exploring on our own "private" beach. An unusual, quirky gem of a property. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous 5star cottage of superior quality throughout. Everything and more that you could need. A real home from home, warm and welcoming with outstanding views across the sea to the Isle of Skye. The Stags visiting the garden in the morning and evenings night were an unexpected bonus. A wonderful stay, we cannot wait to return. Oh and thank you for the complimentary wine! On arrival, if you travel slowly, around 25 yards past the cottage, be careful not to miss the narrow gravel track on the right that takes you down to the front of the cottage. This saves you having to carry your luggage down a steep narrow footway.

Callakille

The Burnside Cottage at Callakille is ideal for people looking for peace and remoteness: There are only a few houses within three or more miles! It is cozy and lovingly furnished and well equipped. The cottage is an ideal base to explore the Applecross Peninsula. Applecross offers some well developed hiking trails, which are also not too difficult to master. If you want to eat out you find two or three places at Applecross village and nearby; In high season, be sure to make a reservation and find out if the restaurant is open. We spent a great week in Callakille, after crossing the Applecross Pass (don't miss the drive from the south, it's breathtaking! And watch out for the cyclists, they must be suffering quite a bit!), thanks to the owners.

Cluny Croft is in an excellent location with lovely views. Plenty of walking at all levels in the area. The accommodation is quite spacious and generally comfortable, although very tired. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped and even and a range of supplies (salt and pepper, oil etc) . There is a good supermarket, other shops and a petrol station in Newtonmore. Although it has wifi, it was very unstable and we were unable to stream anything. It is not at all suitable if you need to do anything beyond check some mails or web pages (and even then it can be very slow). Remember to bring toiletries and toilet roll.

We have just spent an amazing week at Easter Knocklea Cottage. A beautiful property inside and out. Spacious, yet cosy, with many different seating areas. A well equipped kitchen, including an extra fridge and freezer in the very useful boot room! We enjoyed having meals in the conservatory where the views across the valley were amazing. We also spent lots of time sitting outside admiring the view and the wildlife. The property is in a secluded position, with just 1 near neighbour, but a very useful Spar shop in the village of Bellabeg a few miles down the road. We had a great time exploring the local area and the wider Cairngorm area including the Balmoral estate.

Loved the view from the living room window! The house is huge (we were four), rooms are spacious. Beds new and very comfortable, but interior (most of all the shower and the kitchen) might need an upgrade as it is quite old. Overall cleanliness has room for improvement as well. We were unfortunately unable to cope with the heating regulation, thank God we had the fireplace. :) Owner made some efforts to keep up communication with us. Turned out that he went on a short trip which is totally ok, but it would have been convenient to have someone around and approachable. Had a very lovely week on Skye!

This cottage was all we were looking for. 50 metres to the water - which we did dip in on several occasions - seals swimming when the tide came in, herons and other birds and in the evening, the reddeers came by slow nibbling the grass. We could sit for hours just looking at the view of the Loch Kishon and Cuilins of Skye in the distance. Friendly neighbour also, we had a great time. The cottage was very clean and welcoming, perfect for a family of four adults, and "checking in" was no problem at all. Everything worked and we did not have the need for contacting the owner. As a matter of courtesy I informed of our arrival an departure per sms but did not receive a reply. Turned out the owner's number was a landline, but Wilderness Cottages made sure to inform the owner on our behalf. Dealing with Wilderness Cottages was also very easy and straighforward. Their representative was friendly and accommodating and made sure everything went smooth. I will not hesitate to recommend this cottage, it is exquisite and the location is epic. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and feedback on Ardrannach. We are glad you enjoyed your stay however disappointed to hear about the cleanliness and condition of the road to the house has tained your expeience. Wilderness Cottages are a booking agent and having reviewed our files this issue has not been raised in the past.. We have contacted the owner to discuss the access issues further. They have advised the road is a public highway which is maintained by the local council. After our discussions with the owners they have contacted their local authority to share the issues raised. He has also spoken with the housekeeper and this has been dealt with at the recent changeover.

Pooltiel House is a superb holiday home: beds, bathrooms, kitchen are first class!!! The view is unique, but some comfortable outdoor chairs would enhance the enjoyment. Add to that the location - nestled in a well kept area with a large grass section, great for kids and dogs (yet only a ten min walk into the town) you can sit on the veranda and watch the resident red squirrels and numerous varieties of birds.
