An Sealladh is situated in a quiet position in the village of Lochinver on Scotland’s west coast. The property makes an ideal base for exploring this part of the country including the North Coast 500 route.
Tastefully furnished throughout in a traditional style, the accommodation is located over two levels. On the ground floor the sitting room and kitchen both benefit from garden views, the sitting room has comfortable seating and a digital TV, and an open fire. The kitchen is spacious and has all the usual appliances and a dining table with seating for six, it also had direct access to the garden. The master bedroom with a king size bed, is located on this level and again enjoys garden views, completing the facilities is a nice bathroom with a roll top bath with shower over.
On the upper level the bedrooms have coombed ceilings and the owner has provided quality bed linen and towels. Both bedrooms enjoy views to the garden and over Lochinver. A shower room is also located on this level. Outside the garden area is enclosed, ideal for those guests with a pet or with young children.
Lochinver itself offers a good range of facilities including a couple of shops, restaurants, cafes, and a Tourist Information centre. The closest restaurant to the cottage being the Lochinver Larder, well known in the area for their pies, they offer informal dining along with a selection of food to takeaway. The scenery in the area is quite spectacular with Suilven, a policeman’s helmet of rock being particularly striking. At 2,389ft high the mountain is only advisable for the experienced; however there are numerous other areas to walk in the vicinity.
The Highland Stoneware factory is located close by, and is well worth a visit to see their hand painted ceramics being made, and perhaps even purchase a piece as a souvenir. For those looking for a bit of an adventure, Inver Cruises operate a ninety minute trip from the marina and give the visitor the chance to see the coastal scenery and local sea life.
