The Old Dairy is a comfortable ground floor apartment located just four miles from the village of Beauly. The property with its peaceful location is set in a small courtyard and located beside Aigas Golf Club, one of the most picturesque golf clubs in the Highland Region. The apartment is tastefully furnished in a traditional style and would make an ideal base for exploring the Highlands and further afield such as the West Coast and the Isle of Skye.
The main living area at the property is open plan with the sitting room, kitchen and dining area being one. This room is spacious and light with views to the front and side towards the golf course and Aigas forest. The sitting area has comfortable seating, a flat screen TV with built in DVD player and wifi is provided. The kitchen area has all the usual appliances together with a small dining area.
The property has two bedrooms, the double which is located to the rear of the property enjoys views towards the courtyard, and the twin which is at the front has views towards the golf course and forest. A shower room completes the facilities. Outside the communal garden is spacious and offers various places to sit and relax and garden furniture and a barbecue is provided. Guests with children should be aware that the garden is not enclosed and there is a large pond.
The property is situated beside Aigas Golf Club with its 9 hole course, guests who would like to participate are able to receive a 50% discount on the green fees and club hire is available. The club house has a coffee shop and a table tennis/games room, which is free to use and guests with children may particularly enjoy especially so on a wet day.
There is plenty of opportunity here to see an abundance of wildlife. With three of the most beautiful glens on your doorstep you will have ample opportunity to explore some of Scotland’s wild county. Glen Affric has been declared a National Nature reserve and you will have the chance to see a variety of wildlife, which could include Osprey, Golden Eagles, Capercaillie, Ptarimagan, Badgers, Otters, Pine martens and of course all species of deer, along with many smaller birds that could include Crossbills and Crested tits. If you visit Glen Cannich or Strathfarrar you will begin to understand the meaning of ‘remote’.
Glen Strathfarrar with its large area of ancient Caledonian pine forest and huge population of red deer continues the wildlife spotting opportunities while Glen Cannich boasts one of the largest dams and rugged scenery. All three glens offer the walker numerous choices from forest trails to more strenuous munros. Nearby Reelig Glen with Britain’s tallest tree and Abriachan community wood, with feature forest trails offer alternative walking experiences.
The village of Beauly is a short distance from the Old Dairy and offers a good range of unique shops, a supermarket and various cafes and restaurants. In the area of the old market square is a 13th century priory and Visitor Centre displaying local history and information. The Glen Ord distillery is also located just a short distance away and offers various tours.
