Lochedge Lodge is a fantastic property situated only 9 miles north of Tarbert, it offers spectacular views of the Harris Mountains and of both Loch Maaruig and Loch Seaforth. The location is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity, while observing the local varied wildlife from the Lodge.
Lochedge Lodge is beautifully presented and offers luxury accommodation for two guests. The sitting room, kitchen and dining area are open plan and enjoy views to the loch. Upstairs the spacious bedroom has a king-size bed and completing the facilities is a shower room with a large walk-in shower. Outside the enclosed garden has a patio area with garden furniture and is an ideal place to sit and relax after a day exploring. The owners live in the adjacent property and are on hand if needed.
Harris in the Outer Hebrides is a beautiful island of great contrasts. The west coast of Harris, south of Tarbert, provides spectacular beaches and seascapes while the centre and east coast is more hill and loch terrain. The nearest Supermarket is located in Tarbert. They provide everything you might need for your stay and are known to be friendly and helpful. There is a choice of restaurants/dining options both in Tarbert and surrounding areas of Leverburgh, Scarista and Ardhasaig.
You can from here, also enjoy the outdoors whether kayaking, cycling or walking - the Hebridean Way is on the doorstep. For climbers, the North Harris hills are quite accessible and are wild and unspoilt. This is the habitat of a great number of golden eagles, red deer and is also home to Sea eagles, red grouse and mountain hares. The Clisham at 799m is the highest point in the Outer Hebrides with spectacular views from its summit to Lewis in the North, South Harris and -on a clear day - St Kilda in the West. You can take a private tour around the island or further afield and there is a regular bus service around the islands from Tarbert. You can also sail to St Kilda from here and all in all, you will certainly have an insight into Hebridean life on these ‘islands on the edge’.
Visit the galleries exhibiting and selling local Hebridean art and jewellery and the regular craft market of locally made goods. There is, of course, the now world-renowned Harris Gin distillery. It is perfectly located for exploring the island and all it has to offer. Many of the beautiful white sandy beaches are just a short drive away with plenty of lovely cafes to stop for lunch or coffee. Whatever you want to experience of modern-day life or the history, crofting and seafaring traditions of the island, it is all accessible from Loch Edge Lodge.
