Situated in the pretty village of Carradale, on the eastern coast of the Kintyre Peninsula, Lismore is a lovely, well equipped, 3 bedroom bungalow with ample garden and parking. This comfortable, cosy cottage provides the perfect base to relax and appreciate the views over Kilbrannan Sound and the Isle of Arran. Carradale itself gives the opportunity to feel part of a village that has not been overrun with tourism, while exploring the beauty of the Kintyre Peninsula.
Upon arrival at Lismore, you will find yourself in a beautiful garden, ringed with bushes and dotted with roses. The drive has space for three to four cars, meaning that parties travelling separately in small groups will all find a space to park. Walking along the side of the property, a path guides you past the rose trellis to the small step leading to the front door. As you enter the cottage, an entrance vestibule will lead into the hallway. On the right sits a bench with coat hooks above it, where you can comfortably remove boots and jackets after an outdoor adventure. Through a door on the left is the main bathroom, complete with bath with shower attachment, heated towel rail, toilet and wash hand basin. At the end of the corridor is a shower room with a shower cubicle, toilet and wash hand basin, preventing any squabbles over who gets to freshen up first. To the left is the large open-plan living space, decorated in calming tones. At the centre of the living area is the wood burning stove, flagged on either side by full length picture windows, which provide beautiful views of the garden and further beyond, across the sea, towards the hills of Arran. Here you can relax, take in the views or watch TV in the comfortable sofa and armchairs. The kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker and oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine. The dining area features a spacious table with seating for six. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, a spacious bedroom with king size bed, wardrobe and dressing table. A double bedroom with wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a third twin bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers.
Despite having a population of under 600 people, Carradale is very well serviced and the picturesque harbour is still an important part of the local economy and busy with creel fishermen.
You can stock up on treats and essentials at the Carradale Community Shop & Post Office and for refreshments you are spolit for choice with delicious home baking and cooking just around the corner at Drumfearne and also at the Blackbird Tearoom. Further choice is available for food or a drink in the bar at the Carradale Hotel and the Ashbank Hotel.
For those who enjoy nature and the great outdoors, there is plenty of wildlife to see in the area, red squirrels, deer, sea birds, eagles, dolphins and occasionally whales can be found. There are plenty of forest walks available from Lismore and if you would like a little more of a challenge Cnoc nan Gabhar (Deer Hill) will provide stunning views for your efforts.
