Wee Dram is a unique property ideally situated just a short distance from Craigellachie in the heart of the Speyside whisky country. The property is ideally suited for a couple or for one, although there is a small sofa bed available for a extra guest or a couple of children. Wee Dram is tastefully furnished and equipped to a good standard.
Inside the main living area is open plan, with the sitting room, dining and kitchen being one. This room is light and spacious and a log burner takes pride of place, the large window to the front providing views over the garden and beyond to Aberlour. The kitchen is well equipped and has all the usual appliances, see more info for a full list. Completing the facilities on this level is a shower room.
Upstairs the spacious bedroom has a juliet balcony which again provides views over the countryside. The bedroom also has a dressing area and a en-suite with a bath, ideal for relaxing in after a day walking and exploring in the surrounding area. Wee Dram offers a perfect retreat for a holiday and wifi is provided. The owners live in the adjacent property, although Wee Dram has its own private space.
Aberlour, or Charlestown of Aberlour, is a large, attractive village that lies along the south east bank of the River Spey. Aberlour was once served by a railway running between the village and the River Spey. Today much of this has been landscaped into an attractive riverside park, while the Old Station serves as a Tea Room and as the Speyside Way Visitor Centre.
Aberlour is highly recognised for its local distillery which was built by James Fleming in 1879 and is open today to visitors. In close proximity you will also find the beautiful Macallan Estate that hosts the Macallan Whisky distillery and visitor centre. Why not try the famous Walkers shortbread baked in the village of Aberlour to an original family recipe perfected by Joseph Walker in 1898. Today Walker’s shortbread produce 60% of all shortbread exported from Scotland.
The Speyside Way and Glenlivet Estate are available for those looking to do some walking or perhaps you may want to travel further afield to the small picturesque villages of the Morayshire coastline, and partake in a bit of dolphin spotting at Findhorn.
A Good Housekeeping Deposit of £75.00 is required at the property.
