Many cottages are open all year, have log fires and make pets welcome.
Welcome to Wilderness Cottages where you will find a variety of self catering holiday properties which range in size from small and cosy cottages for 2, ideal for honeymoon couples and romantic holidays, or larger holiday cottages to sleep from six to twelve. We provide a wide selection of high quality holiday cottages and apartments that suit all tastes, from holidays in remote crofts to stays in luxury apartments.
As our name suggests our environment is important to us; we want people to both enjoy it and respect it. We encourage cottage owners to take a responsible approach to their self catering business by caring for the environment and promoting sustainable tourism so that we can all enjoy a cottage holiday in this beautiful place for generations to come. Some of our holiday cottages have been given Gold, Silver or Bronze awards for their environmentally friendly policies and Green Tourism practices from the Scottish Tourist Board approved, Green Tourism Business Scheme.
The cottages that have achieved these awards will have the appropriate symbol on their web pages, we also have a dedicated page that highlights the properties with green awards.
Please view the Wilderness Cottages environmental policy.
Many of our holiday homes are based around Loch Ness but in recent years we have been able to offer holiday cottages outside of this area, including holiday accommodation on the West Coast (inc. Wester Ross & Easter Ross), The Cairngorms Nationional Park, a selection of fine holiday cottages on Skye and many more throughout Scotland.
Have fun choosing, as the cottage that most suits you will undoubtedly turn out to be an endearing memory of your holiday in Scotland. We are here, and happy to help you with that choice. If you would like to discuss a cottage, telephone us on 01463 719219 or email email@example.com.
To help those of you looking for late availability we have created a page that lists cottages with availablity in the next 14 days.
Loch Ness is over 20 miles long and a mile wide. It is the largest body of water by volume in Scotland and in places is 700 feet deep. It offers many natural and historic attractions to be enjoyed by all who visit; it is also the home to the mythical Loch Ness monster or ‘Nessie’ to her friends.
Our holiday cottages have something to offer the whole family; if you are looking for seclusion you have the wild glens, here you have the opportunity to see a diverse range of wildlife from golden eagles to the majestic stag. Beaches and forests are never far away offering outdoor activities such as walking, fishing or golfing to name a few whilst still being close to the city of Inverness.
Loch Ness makes an ideal holiday base with numerous attractions on the doorstep it also gives you scope to tour the Northern Highlands of Scotland, the West Coast and the Isle of Skye which is just 90 minutes away.
Wilderness Cottages have a large selection of quality self catering properties around Loch Ness which we are certain will more than satisfy your holiday expectations.
We have split the Loch Ness region into areas in order to make it easier to select the perfect property for you. Each area offers its own unique qualities which are expanded upon in the tabs below.
