Latest Restrictions Imposed by the Scottish Government

The Scottish Government have released a statement regarding new restrictions they are imposing on those staying in self catering accommodation:

From Friday 25 September, people from more than one household (or extended household) must not stay in self-catered accommodation together while the current restrictions on indoor private gatherings are in place. This includes accommodation such as a caravans, flats and holiday cottages. If you are staying in a hotel, bed and breakfast or similar accommodation, you should not have more than one household (or extended household) staying in each room booked.

How This Effects Your Booking

We're sorry if these new restrictions effect your holiday. Unfortunately, the Scottish Government have brought these measures in at extremely short notice, and their messaging to us leading up to these restrictions has been both misleading and contradictory. (See more here) However, the above statement is clear and we are sorry to say that our owners are now unable to accept bookings that fall within these restrictions.

What happens if you have a booking that falls inside these restrictions

We are contacting those that are impacted by these new restrictions in order of booked date, please wait for us to contact you about your holiday.

Parties of guests that are unable to meet these new restrictions have the following options available to them:

  • Reduce your party size - If you can meet the new restrictions, your holiday can still go ahead.
  • Transfer your booking - Your holiday can be moved to 2021. The transferred dates will be subject to the owner’s confirmation and unfortunately the transfer will be subject to the 2021 rates.
  • Cancel the booking - Your holiday can be cancelled and you will receive a refund less a small administration fee.

Our telephone answering service and email is available outside of these hours. Both are regularly monitored.

All of our availability calendars are now up to date and you are able to book properties using the usual methods.

Please note: All bookings due to commence after the 3rd of July are subject to our standard terms and conditions. If new restrictions come into force, we will contact guests to discuss your options. These would include transferring you booking to an alternative date, or if you prefer, a full refund less a small administration charge.

Our owners have been working hard to ensure that their properties are ready for your arrival.

Additional measures will have been taken to ensure your stay is safe. These include a risk assessment and the development of an enhanced cleaning regime for each property.

Please follow any guidance provided in the property and ensure you follow any instructions that are provided for when you leave your property at the end of your holiday.
