Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Update

Last reviewed: 29/05/2020

These are uncertain times for us all, and we would like to keep you updated as to how the Coronavirus is affecting Wilderness Cottages.

The situation with the virus is changing rapidly, and we urge all our customers to follow the Governments’ guidelines. Our priority must be that we all stay safe and well.

With the Scottish Government announcement that people should not be travelling to holiday cottages in the Highlands, we feel we should offer further guidance to our guests.

Future Bookings

You will no longer be able to make a booking for a holiday that starts before the 4th of July 2020. This date may change as the situation with the virus, and Government guidance develops. If you wish to book a holiday that will commence after that date, then we will be pleased to accept it, it will be subject to our standard terms and conditions.

If You Have Booked

Moving a Booking

We recommend that customers consider moving their booking to a later date if you have a property booked before the end of May.

We may have to amend this date in line with government guidelines, so please check this page regularly.

We will do our best to accommodate you, and we will not charge a fee for the amendment. Please see the information below regarding how you may ask to move your booking.

The self-catering industry has asked for clarification from the Government so that we can act with more certainty in this area, and we await their reply.

We have chosen the dates on this page because the Government hasn't provided any guidance as to time frames. They may change as things develop.

We find ourselves in an extraordinary situation, and we would be grateful if you can support our owners and us through this challenging time.

As per our Terms and Conditions, no refunds will be paid, however please consider moving your booking to a later date rather than cancelling.

Please remember that balance payments are not due until eight weeks before your arrival date. We therefore recommend that you wait until then before making a decision on cancelling.

Please also check with your own travel insurance company to see whether the cancellation may be covered.

When we receive further information, we will update this page.
