Stayed at Moat House 9 - Abbey in the May half term, and have to say it was fantastic! Our Moat house was lovely and clean on arrival, and had a bottle of wine, shortcake biscuits and some milk in the fridge along with tea and coffee! Kitchen had everything you needed, including dishwasher and washing machine (even had tablets and washing tablets supplied!) The living room was very comfortable (had Sky and dvd player) as were the bedrooms. Lovely surrounding around the abbey, and a 3 minute walk from our Moat house and we were on the banks of Loch ness.........you'll find a restaurant here too 'The Boathouse' which was superb!! Had a swim in the swimming pool, which also had a sauna and steam room, and although fairly small, was enough for us. Fort Augustus is only a 3/4 minute walk away which was nice to have a stroll around, and Fort William is about 3/4hr away. Weather was perfect too for us! Will definitely return!!!!!!
We had an excellent stay at Moat house 9 during October 2015. The house is well equipped of a suitable size and well situated. The communal facilities are a bonus, the swimming arrangements require a little thought as at times several families/individuals are using the communal pool together which can be 'cosy' in the very small changing room, best bet is to change at your house first. Fort Augustus is spectacular this time of year and literally 10 minutes walk along the Caledonian Canal you are away from the village and surrounded by rolling hills and Scots Pine trees. The Caledonian Canal is an Engineering delight, always something going on there. Loch Ness is its usual dark and mysterious self. The local shops are within walking distance and well stocked.
A lovely house with everything we needed. The setting was beautiful, very close to Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canel. The Boathouse restaurant in the grounds served lovely food and had wonderful views over the loch. The abbey is a beautiful building. The swimming pool was very nice and clean. There is plenty to do in the area. We had a fantastic family holiday and would recommend this property
We had a lovely time here in October 2013. The Abbey is beautiful and the accomodation was really nice as well.
Beautiful setting and a short walk to all amenities. Apartment was lovely, clean and stocked with the necessities as well as a complimentary bottle of wine. We loved it but steep stairs to the bedrooms over 2 floors would not make it suitable for anyone who isn't fit and able or for keen toddlers. Service was excellent, a guided tour of facilities was provided. Pool lovely and warm and games room nice play to chill out.
Ideal accommodation for short or long stays. Well furnished throughout and lots of nice touches like milk in the fridge and dishwasher tabs in the cupboard. A member of the management team gave us a guided tour of the Abbey facilities and Moat House 9 itself. It's difficult to comprehend why people stay in hotels when this sort of accommodation is out there and much better value. Highly recommended.
We stayed at the end of August and were impressed with the facilities. Good response from the on site sstaff when there was a problem with the dishwasher. I'd recommend it to friends. Good location, shame the restaurant was shut.
Excellent cottage. Extremely well located, comfortable modern furniture and equipment. All the added extra touches that makes a self catering customer happy - milk in the fridge, hair dryers, quality towels ...
