Sunnyhill Croft is a beautifully appointed cottage, located just six miles from the popular tourist village of Gairloch. The property offers panoramic views to the Isle of Skye and to the Western Isles. The Wester Ross area offers some of the most spectacular scenery that Scotland has to offer, and an abundance of wildlife, which makes this location a perfect choice for an outdoor holiday, with walking, cycling and fishing on the doorstep.

The cottage is part of a traditional croft and is set in three acres of land with an enclosed garden. Inside the property is tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard with all the accommodation on the one level. To the front of the property the spacious lounge enjoys dual aspect views to the sea and beyond, and is furnished with comfortable sofas and a flat screen TV, from here an arched opening gives views into the well equipped kitchen.

The cottage has three spacious bedrooms, a master with a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom, a second bedroom with a king size bed, and a spacious single. Additional facilities include a dining room, a family bathroom complete with a shower, and a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.  Throughout the property has oil fired central heating, ensuring that guests will be warm and comfortable, no matter what time of year you visit.

A local pub is located within a couple of miles at Melvaig, however for a better selection the village of Gairloch is located approximately six miles away and has a good range of facilities including a few shops, a good butcher, various places to eat, pony trekking centre, a small golf course, and the award winning Heritage Museum.

Gairloch is home to a beautiful beach and a harbour where various trips are available, including the popular Hebridean Whale cruises. Further afield Inverewe Gardens (National Trust for Scotland) can be found, this world-famous historic garden being one of Scotland’s most popular botanical attractions.

A great place to relax and get away from it all. The view from the main window in the sitting room is awesome. House is warm, spacious and has all you need. The garden is well fenced and secure. The area has many location to explore and the local shops have a good supply. Excellant all round holiday location

Above all, we will remember this cottage for the magnificent views from the large picture window across to Skye and Lewis & Harris - with the associated sunsets. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. There are a few minor points of which prospective hirers should be aware: i) there is a steep (but straight) driveway to the front door and no means of turning the car so you have to reverse down; can be done of course but not easy - fortunately daylight while we were there ii) there about 4 or 5 steps up to the front door iii) there is shallow step from the main bedroom into the ensuite which might catch you out - we tied a hankerchief to the door-handle iv) we were slightly surprised that, having paid the full price for the cottage albeit with only two of us staying, only one bed had been made up (in the similar sized cottage that we were in the previous week near Forres, all the beds were made up). All that said, the situation of this cottage is exceptional and, except on the day we arrived and the day we left, the weather was good - unusually good some of the locals said!

We stayed at Sunnyhill Croft from 13th to 20th August and had a wonderful week. We found the property to be extremely comfortable and the views from the large picture window in the lounge are truly breath-taking. Sunnyhill can be found a couple of miles down a lane past Gairloch, the drive down this road is beautiful with views of the sea and mountains. We have never been to Scotland and were overcome by the hospitality and friendliness. We found Sunnyhill Croft a good base to explore the Highlands, the nearby beaches at Big Sand and Gairloch are exceptional and very dog friendly. We liked everything about this property and its setting and will definitely be coming back next year.

The house was very comfortable to stay in. It had all the amenities we required. It was clean, tidy and well equiped. We like the location because it was remote and quiet. I loved the big picture window and spent most of my stay watching the sea and the sky as they changed with the light and wind. I would recommend this holiday house to anyone who wants to get away from it all. Take plenty of food, drink and books to read.
