This is a newly built holiday cottage in a position that can only be described as stunning. Fersit is the place to come if you enjoy walking, although to begin with this cottage is situated in the mountains 800 ft above sea level. There are walks here which you could only describe as, not for the faint hearted, with 5 Munro's on your doorstep and plenty of low level walks are available too. Mountain bikers and fishermen, will also find heaven here, trout fishing is available nearby. At the end of your day whether it has been physical or relaxing you will look forward to returning to Fersit to perhaps relax on the decking, with a glass of wine or a dram to dream away the events of your day.
Fersit is 3 miles off the main road and is a true wilderness cottage but with all the comforts of a modern home. The nearby village of Roy Bridge has a couple of nice hotels for eating out or having a drink and Spean bridge a couple of miles further on. Fort William, 12 miles away offers some excellent restaurants shops and cafes. You can visit the Great Glen water park, take a boat trip from Fort William, or a trip on the steam train 'The Jacobite' from Fort William to Malliag, this was voted the most scenic line in the country.
The owners welcome well behaved dogs and the cottage has an enclosed garden. Remember this is wild country, with plenty of sheep and deer around, so please do not let your dog roam it is dangerous and hill farmers take a dislike to dogs worrying sheep.
If for any reason we are unable to accommodate you at Fersit Log Cottage then we have Littlepark Cottage, just a few minutes away.
If your heart is set on a holiday in a log cabin and Fersit Log Cottage is booked then why not have a look our similar properties that can be found on the Log Cabins page.

Lovely secluded spot yet convenient access to Ben Nevis, Fort William, Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. Lots of wildlife around the lodge which the children enjoyed too. All in all we had a great week here. Shower cubicle reminded us what it was like being in the alps skiing as it was was so small!!!!! it however worked just fine!!!!!!
'We have stayed in 'Wilderness Cottages' several times and have always been impressed by the quality and cleanliness. We booked Fersit Log Cabin for seven days, arriving on Saturday 6th June and we left after two days in disappointment. The reasons are outlined below:- 1) We chose Fersit because I am disabled and my wife wanted somewhere she could walk our dogs from the doorstep. On the first evening, only a few hundred yards from the cabin she was approached and threatened by the neighbouring farmer. Her dogs were walking quietly on their leads by her side and they are fully obedience trained. He asked if we were staying locally and she affirmed that we were in the log cabin and he 'advised' her that his dog was vicious and uncontrolled and that it would be dangerous for her to walk on the footpaths. The paths are clearly signed rights of way and are detailed in the log cabin walks. My wife understandably felt threatened and, as his fields adjoin the cabin, was reluctant to even let the dogs out in the cabin garden. There is no warning about this animosity in the cabin details. 2) The next morning (Sunday) we put some clothes in the washing machine but could not make it work so we turned it off and went out. When we returned we found that the kitchen was flooded. There was no means to mop up the water so we were forced to use the bath towels to dry the flood. We emailed the caretakers of the house and were told that a plumber would be contacted and sent. We received no further reply by the time we departed. Whilst cleaning the flood I checked the cold water feed under the sink and it had been turned off. After turning the water on, it gushed out over the top of the machine. Clearly this problem has been there for some time (the adjacent kitchen units show water damage) and not repaired. 3) The next morning (Monday) my wife was turning the kettle on and the under cupboard lighting unit fell on her. That was the last straw and we packed and left immediately. We notified the caretakers that we were doing this but received no reply. On the face of it the cabin is warm and comfortable. However, the nice welcome pack does not compensate for the dirty cutlery or the threadbare bed linen and towels or the kitchen table which is on the point of collapse. The cottage is fine for wheelchair access but the bathroom is not adapted for the disabled.
Excellent single storey cottage/lodge. Could have been cleaned in certain areas a bit better before we arrived, such as bathroom floor, under settees and the cutlery and glasses needed a bit of a check/clean before use. My wife also does not walk very well and uses a Walker and wheelchair. The steps up to the door could do with more hand rails and the shower is very small and could do with a grab handle in it for those who are not 100% stable. Other than that the place is suitable for wheelchair user and the setting is great and the place is excellent so would wholly recommend a holiday there.
This is one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. It is in a stunning position with views of the mountains and the drive to the cottage is a treat in itself. The cottage is equipped to an exceptionally high standard and is spotlessly clean. The welcome basket is a lovely touch. We will definitely book again.
Had a fantastic week here. Cottage was very clean, had all we needed. The drive to cottage from main road is stunning especially by the loch. A must drive is General wades military road from Laggan. Goes on for 13 miles we're you have to turn around and come back but well worth it. Lovely restful week.
If you're looking for a quiet peaceful relaxing getaway then Fersit Log Cottage delivers on all fronts. Our golden retrievers loved the large enclosed garden and to say this place is off the beaten track is an understatement. There are some lovely walks to be had from the nearby car park and its only an hour away from Loch Ness. The spar at Spean Bridge is just 20mins away or Morrisons at Fort William a further 20. The jacuuzi bath was a bit of a novelty and the log burner kept us nice and warm on an evening. Needless to say we will be back sometime in the near future. Steve, Karen, Charlotte, Milly and Lucy.
We had a comfortable stay at Fersit log cottage. Its is approx. 2.5 miles from the main road and has other houses within 150 metres. It is a good cottage to use as a base if you want to explore the area. The garden is largish and works well for relaxing and has sheep netting and a gate so your dog is safe to be let out without worry. There are plenty of walks to be done from Fersit and munro's there to be bagged! You will need walking boots at the very least as the paths up the hills are mostly non existent and boggy. There are also pleasant flat walks on gravel paths that are easy and scenic. Saw a wild stag on the way up one munro but sadly did not see red squirrels or the elusive pine martin during our stay. Recommend the white sand beaches near Mallaig. Recommend the waterfalls at Foyers. Recommend a day out to Inverness and taking pack lunch out to Chanonry Point/ Lighthouse - if you are lucky you will see dolphins close to shore (10 metres). Fort William is 20 mins away by car. Nearest pub / hotel 5 miles ish - we did not try them.
Great location for both hill walking and for the wildlife that we could see from the comfort of our armchairs.
Fersit Log Cottage is a lovely warm and comfortable cottage situated in a small hamlet. We really enjoyed our 'get away from it all' holiday there. The weather was very wet at times so having a comfortable cottage in a beautiful location made our holiday. The cottage is reasonably well equipped and there were no issues. Roe deer visited the meadow in front of the cottage most mornings and we were thrilled to see a Golden Eagle soaring overhead when we were coming up the single track road one day. There are walks in the area to suit most people and we enjoyed a train trip from Fort William to Mallaig as well as trips to Glencoe, Glenfinnan and the Caledonian Canal.
Fersit log cottage ... great location, lovely cottage. Great to just relax and while away the hours watching the wildlife. However, it should be noted that in winter if snow is forecast it is not accessible by normal vehicles as we found out in Feb18. That aside, a fabulous, homely place. (could do with a few more kitchen utensils though ... not everyone like ready meals?)
We have just returned from a lovely break in Fersit Log Cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is lovely. It is spacious, well equipped and the furnishings are of a lovely quality. The fenced garden is superb if you have dogs and children so they have a safe envornment to run around and explore. Its lovely to see the wildlife around the cabin, our children enjoyed watching the birds feeding of the decking. The Jacuzzi bath is so relaxing. We had a great time and if you want a holiday thats is relaxing and peaceful. i would not hesitate to recomend this cottage! Thank you.
Lovely cottage in an excellent private location with a nice view and walking access to two great hikes up munros.
This is the first time we have stayed here and it was a pleasant surprise. Small but clean and very functional. It is next door to the starts of a number of Munro mountains to walk and I took full advantage of that. A dead end narrow lane to the property, it is really quiet with just a handful of houses nearby. Spean Bridge is 20 minutes away. Very few negatives, but we thought the log effect cladding was one.
Our 2nd visit to Fersit Log Cottage 28/10/17 and yet again a fantastic holiday,we love this place so much we have booked again for next year. Our golden retriever had the best time at fersit, none of us wanted to leave, thank you Lynne and Graeme for the procecco waiting for us when we arrived, can't wait to enjoy all of this beautiful place one again,x
Fantastic cosy log cabin in its own grounds overlooking a field and properties on the far side. Well equipped, clean, spacious. We really enjoyed our stay here, especially the drive to Fersit!
The cottage is warm and comfortable and in a stunning location. Wildlife all around. Great for a base to explore the Highlands. The garden is not entirely dog proof as my dogs were able to get through the wooden 5 bar gate and the choice of white leather furniture and a cream and red rug was not the best choice when you have dogs either.
Cottage was lovely - clean, everything you need for your stay. All mod cons. Spacious and very cosy. Log burner was great, didn't need the heating at all. Jacuzzi bath was an fantastic after long walks. Big porch for all your outdoor gear and loved the decking for watching the wildlife. Garden is dog proof (even for small terriers) - our dogs loved it! Owners were very helpful. And the location - well.....we loved it! Munroes on your doorstep combined with loads of low level walks. Could easily walk each day from cottage and not have to drive anywhere. Great mountain biking too. 15 mins to Spean Bridge - nearest supermarket. 30 mins to Fort William. Loads to do in the area for outdoor enthusiasts, families and elderly parents. In-laws came with us and loved it! Recommend - Glen Roy and the parallel roads; gondola trip and mountain bike trails at Nevis range and the coffee shop in Roy Bridge - Darwin's Rest, awesome home baking, friendly staff ???? Would we book again - def yes!
I looked hard for our perfect cottage and I think ii found it at fersit. Safe secure garden for our dogs, well kitted out kitchen, extremely comfortable and efficient heating without the fire but the log fire was fabulous too. A beautiful big view through the big window lots if Highland walks from our doorstep both low level and into the hills. All in all a fabulous place to rest and recharge with your dogs. Would love to return one day.
The cottage is perfectly situated 2 miles down a quiet road. It's remote and wonderfully quiet but there are also a few other homes near enough if you need anything. Equally, you're not too far from Roybridge and Spean Bridge if you want a meal. Entering the cottage, the cottage exceeded our expectations.... everything was thought of and provided.... from the substantial supply of wood for the log burner to the coffee maker to the dishwasher tablets, to the supply of towels and extra bedding. The cottage is well furnished, clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable. And the log burner was heavenly each night. It really felt like a home away from home. The owners were easily accessible and very helpful. There's several low-level walks around the area, which were great for our 9 year old and the Jacobite Steam Engine and the famous viaduct from Harry Potter is nearby. We've got our eye on a return trip in warmer weather for some of the Munro's and the obligatory Steam Engine! Can't recommend the cottage enough!
We had a fantastic stay at Fersit Log Cottage, it has lovely peaceful surroundings and is great for local walks. The local wildlife often came to visit us whilst we were there; the kids loved watching the deer in the garden whilst they had their breakfast. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay, even the weather was good whilst we were there which meant BBQs and lots of games with the kids in the garden. Our boys were devastated to leave the cottage on our last morning as they had such a wonderful stay and didn't want to go home!
We couldn't have chose a better location for ouranniversary 30th wedding anniversary than feed it log cottage,it was beautiful, made good use of the jacuzzi bath after all the lovely long walks we did,the scenery is stunning,we loved watching the deer in the garden, our Goldie Skye loved the garden,it was massive and he loved running around in it. The log fire is lovely and had many a cosy night with a bottle of wine, fantastic. Thank you Graham and Lynne for the lovely prosecco and cookies they were very welcome, hope to be back again in this lovely cottage, maybe next year. Didn't want to go home, enjoyed it so much.
Couldn't have chose a better cottage for our 30th wedding anniversary, the cottage its self was fantastic, very clean and perfect in every way,the garden was brilliant for our 3 year old golden retriever,he could run around and explore and we knew he would be completely safe. The views around the cottage are stunning,we loved it that 2 deers appeared every day,it was lovely just to sit and watch them. The jacuzzi bath was perfect after long walks which we did everyday and didn't have to use the car,the forest walks are beautiful. Thank you to Graham and lynn for the lovely bottle of wine and cookies, they were very much appreciated, sorry we didn't get to meet you though, we were all sad to leave this beautiful place but left feeling very relaxed and can't wait to go back again, hopefully next year.
The cottage surpassed our expectations, really lovely everything provided and more, truly wilderness, you need a car. We hope to return some day, thank you.
We stayed at Fersit log cottage for a week, it was everything described, idyllic and beautiful, certainly a wilderness and retreat. Everything provided beyond expectations, thank you, hope to return some day soon, our pooch (pug) loved it too.
This was our second visit to Fersit Log Cottage, and there WILL be a third...... Lovely, well equipped cottage, and setting. And an abundance of wildlife. We have used Wilderness Cottages for 14 years, and they have never let us down.
Lovely place to stay, great location ,everything we needed was there! Lovely walks close by. Maggie our dog loved watching the sheep from the decking .
We had a lovely week at Fersit Lodge. I wanted a week of quiet and certainly found it. The lodge was finished to a high standard, the weather was very kind to us and the sun shone for most of the week enabling us to sit out and enjoy the view. We had our dog with us, I enjoyed being able to take him on lots of walks from the house rather than having to drive. A couple of suggestions, information about dog walks would be helpful and the opportunity to have groceries delivered. The owners were very nice, checking we had settled in and everything was ok.
I thought Fersit Cottage to be excellent in all respects. I climbed four Munroes from the front door. There was plenty of space in the cottage and it was warm and cosy. Excellent for an away-from-it-all break. I hope to return.
Lovely acomodation in beautiful setting. We really appreciated the welcome pack including chilled bottle of wine waiting us in the fridge. The cottage was very clean and well provided. Wood burner and jacuzzi bath were much appreciated after our long walks and climbs. Really enjoyable stay.
An excellent cottage for chilling out. Superb location with great walks straight from the door. Nice touch of a welcome pack from the owners, Graham & Lynne. Very comfortable with everything you need. Log burner with enough wood for a whole week. 1st for us. Lots of wildlife on your doorstep including Deer, Owls, Buzzards, Red Squirrels and a variety of other birds. Well recommended if you want a quiet week away from the norm.
Fabulous place, great setting had everything you could possibly want or need, brilliant place to go back to after being out all day to chill out and relax, we loved it. Our dog's Skye & Ollie loved it too and for us just to let them out and know they were safe and secure in the massive fenced garden was great. The midges were a bit of a pain at this time of year but it didn't spoil things. We highly recommend Fersit Lodge if you want peace and quiet with gorgeous views with lovely walks.
Had a great week at Fersit log cottage. Very clean and tidy on arrival . wonderful views all around , and so peaceful. Deer, barn owl and red squirrel visited the garden regularly. wot a wonderful place . hope to go back one day.
We have stayed in other Wilderness cottages that have been much more out in the wilds and really off the beaten track. Fersit is a very small hamlet consisting of around 8 other houses. There are some lovely challenging and non challenging walks straight from the front door so something for everyone. The ever changing views from the large windows were dramatic at times. We were blessed with 5 days of sunny warm still dry days (not what I was expecting) and this in turn meant that the midges were at their worst in the evening so no chance to sit out on the patio. The log cottage was well equipped (dishwasher, washing machine, dryer etc.) spacious and clean. Don't expect great wifi here (but you are on a wilderness holiday after all so why would you need it?) as it is very slow. It has been a great place to chill out and see some great Scottish views.
A fantastic log cabin with a great view of the mountains. The cabin was spotless and well presented, the log burner was brilliant and the road up to the cabin was not bad at all, just take it slowly as there are a few pot holes. Local walks are great. I would recommend this cabin to anybody who wants to relax.
We have had a fabulous week-the cottage has everything you need, it was really cosy-in fact the log fire was too efficient so we had to open the patio doors. Great having all the white good you need but most of all fab not to have to use the car.
Absolutely Fantastic week at Fersit log cottage! Lovely welcome pack on arrival and very clean and tidy cottage with lots of space. Was pleased to see that lots of logs were available for the burner unlike other cottages (Non-Wilderness) that we have been to previously. Great facilities in the cottage. Wonderful location - saw deer in the field on a few mornings - lovely wildlife and scenery. We climbed Ben Nevis due to a fabulous week of weather - back to the relaxing retreat of Fersit after!
The modern, well-kept interior and unique location are strong features of this cottage. Walks and bike routes from the door mean you don't need to use the car much once you are here. We've reccomended it to a couple of friends and would definitely return.
We are just back from spending the most relaxing week in a county haven. The views are outstanding! The cottage is fully equipped, clean and very cosy. It's also dog friendly with a fenced in garden making it just perfect for our dog who thoroughly enjoyed it too :-) I would definitely recommend staying here. We are already looking at making a return trip.
We (including the dogs) love the cottage, love the location and love the fantastic walks all around - just 1 week is never enough.
Perfect retreat with mountain and munro walks on the doorstep. Plenty of wildlife to be seen. In one week, we saw 8 eagles, and they were just the ones we counted! The highlight of the week was seeing an herd of 6 stags. The cottage has everything that you could possibly need, with the benefits of having the owners Graham and Lynn just over the field.
We really enjoyed our week in this excellent cottage. It is in a spectacular location, is very well equipped, and beautifully maintained - we loved the log fire. We saw deer and such a variety of birds. The three-mile drive from the main road was fun, and the un-made part of it was no problem at all. We only had to back up to let someone pass on one occasion - and that was on the way home! Would definitely return in the future, and would use Wilderness Cottages again.
This was our second visit to this wonderful, conferable cottage. A large enclose garden was a perfect haven for our German Shepard to roam around in. Plenty of walks near by. Cannot wait to visit again.
The cottage is better than described in the brochure! It really is an home from home, with everything you could possibly need. We saw the red squirrel, two roe deer in the field, an eagle several times, and even a tawny owl that visited the fence in the small hours. We managed to do half a mountain, and attempted a munro but weather and wrong clothing stopped us :( Was the 1st time we used Wilderness, and would not hesitate to use again. We'll be booking again for next year for the same cottage!
We stayed at fersit log cottage for a week in July and it was amazing, set in the woods down a lovely track, great place to visit the area of Fort William and to relax after a long day. Only regret was that it wasn't longer!
A fantastic place to stay. A warm and well cared for cottage with plenty of space and a good hall for drying wet coats. Mountains reached easily from the door and even with the week of rain we had, we still walked out every day. Only took the car out once all week! Will definitely return.
We had a wonderful and peaceful break at Fersit Log Cottage last week. The property really is superb, easily the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. The welcome pack (bottle of wine, milk, tea bags and coffee) was very much appreciated and a lovely touch by the owners. Despite the name and location there is no need to have any concerns about warmth in the winter - this place is very warm and cosy. We highly recommend this place to anyone staying in this area and plan to return soon.
An excellently equipped and stylish cottage in a remote (ish) location. Excellent base for walking. We hope to return to Fersit Log Cottage and do all the hills we didnt do this time around!
04/10/2010 - This was our first holiday in Scotland and I don't think we could have picked a better area or holiday cottage with everything being brilliant, loved the drive up the long winding road to the cottage and our two German Shepherd dogs had a wonderful time especially the trip on the cable car at Ben Nevis with surprised and astounded onlookers. We will be back when circumstances allow.
12/10/2010-Martin and Sheila Have spent a very enjoyable relaxing week in this cottage. It has a fabulous location away from main roads.Views of mountains and forests from all directions.A really modern and well furnished property with a superb kitchen and a jacuzzi bath.Very welcome after a day in the mountains.Very peaceful and quiet.
We have just returned from our second stay at Fersit Log cottage. Once again a wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage. Peace and quiet reign supreme!! Graham and Lynnn are very kind and thoughtful and the extra little touches they add make it even more special. It is a lovely place and a great time is guaranteed!!
We found this cottage to be superb and in a very idillic setting. It is very well appointed inside with everything you could require for a pleasant longterm stay. We would and have recommended it to several people since our return and would not hesitate to book again at a later date.
Wonderful scenic location. Excellent accommodation. Great walking on your doorstep which we and our dogs loved. We would definately recommend it and hope to visit again.
Just returned from a wonderful holiday staying at this first class accomodation. The cottage is clean, modern and well equiped. The location is just stunning, very remote, quiet and beautiful. The journey along the unmade road an narrow bridges was quite scary the first night but we soon got used to it and in fact it adds to the charm and individuality of the property. Highly recommended for a peaceful holiday.
5 - 12 June 2010. A fantastically situated cottage, and very well equipped. All mod cons and comfortable as well. Lynne was very welcoming and we really enjoyed the 'Welcome Pack' of wine, tea, coffee and even a pint of milk in the fridge. Mid week Lynne gave us some eggs especially laid by "The Fersit Hens" - what a treat! Enjoyed the walks from the cottage. A lovely peaceful week. Thank You. Ian and Linda Macdonald
Just got back from the most perfectly peaceful and lovely cottage imaginable!
The situation was stunning and the quiet was wonderful. Fersit Cottage is gorgeous. Having read earlier, that someone thought a 4 x 4 was needed we were a bit apprehensive, however, we managed to get two Mx5s ( one very low-slung!!) up the track, with no problem at all!!
Graham and Lynne both came to say hello, which made us feel welcome.
We highly recomend this beautiful cottage to everyone - as long there is a week or three left for us to go again!!
Our second visit to the cottage. The last time Christmas 2007. The standard of accomadation remains very high and we could see the property has been very well maintained. The location remains very inspriational.
We cant help feeling were going back one day.
We spent Christmas at Fersit and it was wonderful, they even provided a tree. The cottage is set in beautiful, remote countryside. The inside is warm, cosy and immaculate with everything you could possibly need. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and this was the best by far. Make sure you look at the sky on a clear night, the stars will take your breath away.
For the past thirteen years we have taken an annual holiday in the Highlands, always in self catering accommodation. To us, this was the most perfect holiday home we have rented in that time. Set in beautiful surroundings, the Log Cottage was immaculately clean, very cosy and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need. If only the weather had been kinder to us, we would have loved to have been able to use the outside space and the decked Veranda.
The Log Cottage is remote but that is part of its charm and our reason for chosing it in the first place. The 3 mile single track road to Fersit is, in itself a lovely drive, with a river, a glorious loch and beautiful woodland to enjoy on the way. Just be prepared for the last quarter mile being bumpy as the road is unmade. However it is definately worth it. If you need a peaceful and relaxing holiday, it doesnt get better than this. We were delighted to see our first Pine Marten, and also spotted Deer on several occasions.
Fersit Log Cottage is a very special place and it was hard for us to leave but we are looking forward to next year, when we will return and no doubt each year thereafter (just so long as it stays the same).
Lovely immaculate cottage and very comfortable. Mixed weather but thankfully no midges. Wish you had pointed out that the last part of the road is like a cart track and wish we had a 4x4! Had we known just how rough it was would have chosen a different cottage.
The steam train ride from Fort William to Mallaig was the highlight of our holiday. Stunning views and no driving that day just relaxed.
The owners of Fersit Log Cottage and Wilderness Cottages would like to say in response to this comment that the cottage has been booked by over 70 clients and this is the first time we have received any negative feedback regarding the road. The road is not tarmac, but if driven with care is suitable for cars, a 4x4 is not necessary.
What a fantastic place this is our first time in Scotland and we loved it. The views were fantastic. The Cottage was lovely and got everything you need in there and also a lovely welcome pack. We are both looking forward to coming back again next year
Superb cosy cottage with all the comforts you could wish for. Walking and cycling from the door. Very easy access to nearby mountains and glens. A perfect situation for an active and / or relaxing holiday.
We were delighted with Fersit Cottage. It was clean, modern, luxurious and isolated. Surrounded by stunning scenery and beautiful walks. Central enough for day trips across the highlands, or lovely for a relaxing day in to enjoy the views.
We had a magic time in the cottage. Lovely walks and scenery right on the doorstep. Ideal base for Isle of Skye, Inverness and a few of the whisky distilleries.
We awakened to quite a heavy snow fall on our first morning which set the scene for a fantastic week.
A bottle of wine and tea/coffee and shortie welcomed us to the cottage; nice touch.
This is a lovely, cosy hideaway. Its rustic on the outside but modern and comfortable on the inside. Chris enjoyed the mountains on the doorstep and I enjoyed the woodburner and UKTV Gold.
We arrived back on saturday, and we would like to congratulate Wilderness Cottages for having such a wonderful, remote, tranquil and peaceful accomodation. Fersit Log Cottage is a very clean, very warm and cosy log cabin, in absolutely wonderful surroundings, it is the perfect place to come to get away from it all and recharge your batteries. We come to Scotland every January for that very reason, recharge the batteries and lower the blood pressure, it is the first time we have used Wilderness Cottages but it most certainly will not be the last, not if the standard of Fersit Log Cottage is anything to go by, we strongly recommend this delightful place to stay.
A superb cottage in a superb quiet setting. The cottage was immaculately presented with a log-burning stove ready to light and a lovely welcome pack- and wine chilling in the fridge! We had mixed weather but enjoyed the Jacobite Steam train journey to Mallaig and many varied walks. We saw red deer (a hind) in the garden and several stags nearby. The cottage was very well equipped and beds were very comfortable. We felt able to really chill out and as we drove home, we were really envious of the next lot of guests moving in !
