Strone is situated on the outskirts of the popular village of Drumnadrochit. Built in an elevated position this modern property is set in idyllic surroundings and overlooks Loch Ness. Equipped and furnished to a good standard, its peaceful location would make an ideal base for touring the Highlands of Scotland and the west coast.
The accommodation at the property is all on the one level; the pretty sitting room with its leather sofas offers direct access to the garden and views to Loch Ness. The kitchen has all the usual appliances and a dining table and seating for five. The property has three bedrooms, a double a twin and a small single to the rear. Completing the facilities is a shower room which has recently been updated. Outside the property has a garden with seating and parking is available for two cars.
The nearby village of Drumnadrochit (1.5 miles) has a good range of facilities including a number of pubs, restaurants and a small supermarket. The village is also home to the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition and just a short distance from the property Urquhart Castle can be found. Further afield the historic village of Beauly is located, home to a unique collection of shops including the Old School which sells an array of Scottish goods and the Corner on the Square, a licensed delicatessen and restaurant overlooking the square.
Within 40 minutes drive of the property you will find Glen Affric, a National Nature Reserve, together with the other Glens of Cannich and Strathfarrar. These glens offer some of the most spectacular walking in Scotland and the numerous forest tracks are ideal for exploring by the mountain bike enthusiast. The wildlife in this area is quite magnificent, red deer, golden eagles, badgers and pine martins to name a few. For the golfer in the family the nearby course at Aigas is a short drive away, further a-field the courses at Muir of Ord, and the various ones in the City of Inverness are all worth a visit.
Strone offers a perfect base for exploring with the City of Inverness with all its attractions just over 17 miles away, and the Isle of Skye and the west coast within a ninety minute drive. Travelling to Skye stop off and visit Eilean Donan Castle near Dornie, one of the most famous of Scotland’s Castles and certainly the most photographed. At Kyle of Lochalsh take the bridge across to Skye and visit such places as Dunvegan Castle or Talisker Distillery, or spend your time enjoying the magnificent scenery including the Cullin mountain.
