The village of Scourie is nestled alongside a sandy bay in the far north Highlands. This is the perfect place to come to leave it all behind. Only a 10 minute stroll away from the property is Scourie Beach, with its white sand, clear blue waters and bird hides for watching the wildlife. You can easily feel the hours slip by in this relaxing corner of the world. If wildlife watching is your kind of thing, you can take the ferry over to Handa Island, where over 150 species of birds are waiting to welcome you. Come during May, June and July to find the charming puffins who make this island their home. If a boat tour is more up your street, wildlife cruises operate from the nearby village of Kylesku, where you will have the opportunity to spot other animals, such as whales, dolphins and otters.
Located within the North West Highlands UNESCO Global Geopark, Scourie is the ideal location for lovers of outdoor pursuits. Walks from the village include wandering along to the cliffs for dramatic views to the mountains, climbing Cnoc a' Bhuthain or trekking to the village of Tarbet. For those looking to tackle a mountain, Ben Stack, Ben Hee and Suilven are all within an hour’s drive. The sea and many lochs surrounding Scourie provide the perfect environment for water sports. Kayaks, canoes and small crafts can be launched from the Scourie Pier – only a 5 minute walk from the property. Fishing is a popular activity in the area, with brown trout, sea trout and salmon all being plentiful.
Although Scourie may be remote, all basic needs can be met by the fantastic local services. Groceries and newspapers may be purchased at the Scourie shop, whilst the Scourie Filling Station can meet any needs for fuel or outdoor equipment. A delicious evening meal can be enjoyed at the Whale Tale restaurant or the Scourie Hotel, which both serve high quality Scottish food. If it’s lunch or home baking you’re after, you can’t beat The Anchorage Café at the caravan site.

Cannot speak too highly of this holiday accommodation. Recently modernised to a high standard, it was a pleasure to stay. Hygiene standards excellent. Within easy reach of hotels and restaurants if eating out is a change from using the superb kitchen. Lots of interesting places to visit, good walks through heather and beaches.
Great cottage. Very nicely renovated in a perfect location. Everything we needed was included in the cottage, and it was spotlessly clean. So many great things to do in close proximity, beaches, mountains, etc.
Having Roseville as our base for exploring the Assynt area was perfect. The house has been designed with careful thought about what visitors want for a comfortable stay. Above and beyond facilities like multiple en-suite rooms, SkyQ and the Nespresso machine were greatly appreciated. The village shop had all the provisions we needed and the hotel, although only serving their guests at the time of our visit due to COVID, seemed to have a nice bar and restaurant. Roseville offered us comfort, high standards, a super location and a real home from home. Can't recommend highly enough.
We really enjoyed our stay at this fab property. Cosy and furnished to a high standard with great equipment/facilities. The property has good access to nearby Scourie beach, local walks to the Scourie Headland and Tarbet; and further a field to nearby mountains.
We stayed here for a week in June it is a really beautiful home from home where every amenity was provided for. We all enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return again in the future.
