Croft Cabin is a fabulous property, just a short five minute walk from the village centre. Newly completed the property is ideal for a couple or a solo traveller and offers a perfect base for exploring Loch Ness and the Highlands, with the Isle of Skye, the Northern Highlands, Fort William and Lochaber, and the Cairngorm National Park all within a couple of hours' drive.
Tastefully furnished in a modern style and equipped to a high level, the property has an open-plan layout with the main living, dining area and kitchen being one. The kitchen has all the usual appliances and equipment you will need and there is a dining table for two. The bedroom has a king-size bed. Completing the facilities is a stylish shower room. Situated on a working croft with some animals, guests are free to explore, however the property does have its own private garden area with seating.
Being at the very heart of Scotland, the property offers many places to visit and attractions no matter which direction you travel. Fort Augustus itself caters well for the visitor, with a good range of small shops and places to eat and drink.
Experience Loch Ness itself with a trip with Cruise Loch Ness. Various trips are available from a leisurely cruise to an action-packed rib trip. For the walker various hikes are available and the Great Glen Way passes through the village, ideal for the walker or cyclist. The Caledonian Canal, running from Inverness to Fort William also passes through the village, and many an hour can be taken up by watching the various boats and activity on it.
Fort William is located an hour south and is classed as being the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’, and together with being home to Ben Nevis, the area is also known for the skiing and winter activities at the Nevis Range.
The nearby village of Drumnadrochit (19 miles) has a good range of facilities including a number of pubs, restaurants and a small supermarket. The village is also home to the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition and on the outskirts Urquhart Castle can be found. Further afield the historic village of Beauly is located, home to a unique collection of shops including the Old School which sells an array of Scottish goods and Corner on the Square, a licensed delicatessen and restaurant overlooking the square.
Croft Cabin offers a perfect base for exploring, with the City of Inverness and all its attractions just 34 miles away, and the Isle of Skye and the west coast within a ninety minute drive. If travelling to Skye, stop off and visit Eilean Donan Castle near Dornie, one of the most famous of Scotland’s Castles and certainly the most photographed. At Kyle of Lochalsh take the bridge across to Skye and visit such places as Dunvegan Castle or Talisker Distillery, or spend your time enjoying the magnificent scenery including the Cuillin hills.

Croft Cabin is a little beauty! It manages to tick so many boxes. The decor is contemporary and fresh, the kitchen is really well kitted out, the place is spotless, the views to the hills and the duck pond are lovely, it is peaceful and the owner is very welcoming. Great location if you enjoy walking in the countryside as there's plenty of options from the doorstep. It is also a very short walk to the amenities in Fort Augustus. Would highly recommend!
A real gem hidden away close to the centre of Fort Augustus. The cabin is very modern and immaculate, with everything one could need. Karen the nearby owner was friendly and helpful. The views of the surrounding countryside were exceptional. A perfect hideaway for any couple.
We're so glad we found the Croft Cabin, it's been a perfect place to recharge and relax. It's probably the nicest accommodation of this type that we've ever stayed in.
Karen and John are great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. We have also enjoyed the local wildlife, lots of action around the bird feeder, including a lovely pheasant hen.
