The Speyside Malt Whisky Trail

Malt whisky and Speyside go hand in hand, and what better way to spend a few days of your holiday than sampling some of Scotland’s finest. We’d recommend a designated driver, but even for those that have to abstain from a tipple, there is much of interest to be found on a tour of Speyside distilleries.

An often recommended itinerary, over three days, is outlined below. However, you can pick and mix so that you cover the places that you will find most interesting.

Day 1 – Two Distilleries and a Cooperage

The Glenlivet Distillery, Cardhu Distillery, and the Speyside Cooperage

Day 2 – Three of the Finest

Glenfiddich Distillery, Glen Grant Distillery, and Strathisla Distillery

Day 3 – The Small, The Organic and The Historic

Glen Moray Distillery, Benromach Distillery, and the Dallas Dhu Historic Distillery

Ideal Holiday Cottages for the Whisky Trail

While many of our cottages are within reasonable distance of distilleries that offer tours, if you are thinking of making a round of the Speyside Whisky Trail we’d recommend some that are close by….

These are the closest to the trail, but any of our cottages found in the Cairngorms National Park or Loch Ness are within a reasonable distance.
