The king size bedroom offers direct access via its patio doors to the decked area with seating at the rear of the property, an ideal place to sit and relax no matter what time of the day. All rooms at the property are wheelchair accessible as is the decked area.

Exploring the stunning surroundings of The Appletree Studio

Nature lovers and adventurers will find plenty of things to do, with a range of excellent hikes available in the area and quiet country roads for the cyclist.  For those looking for an organised experience, Shieldaig Outdoor Adventures offer a range of activities, including kayaking, hiking and archery. Nature watching boat trips can be taken from Plockton and Kyle of Lochalsh. For those looking for a more relaxing stroll, Attadale Gardens, famous for its sculptures and rhododendron walk, offers a lovely day out as does Inverewe Gardens which is located near Gairloch.

The Gaelic name for the area of Applecross is “a Chomraich” which means “The Sanctuary”. You will understand, immediately you arrive, why it was given this name, as it is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful and remote wilderness areas on the west coast of Scotland, lying between the Scottish mainland mountain masses and the Isle of Skye.

The food lover is well catered for with some excellent places to eat locally. Both the Applecross Walled Garden and the Applecross Inn  (13 miles) offer freshly caught seafood and local produce. In Sheildaig, Tigh an Eilean Hotel is a 30 minute drive where there is a relaxed friendly bar and an adjoining restaurant serving food of a high standard. Slightly further afield the Kishorn Seafood Bar is one of the areas’ best kept secrets or for a special occasion there is the luxury of The Torridon. For provisions Shieldaig and Lochcarron both have small supermarkets and a smaller shop is available in Applecross.

Perched on the Applecross Peninsula in the quiet hamlet of Fearnmore, the cottage seems less placed than poised — a snug, recently constructed cottage with nearly panoramic views that sweep from the north to the silhouette of the Isle of Skye to the southwest. There are lambs and coos in neighboring pastures for maximal pastoral charm.

As a base for excursions, westward to Skye, north to Gairloch, or threading inland through glens and lochs, it's ideal. But its real allure lies in the return: a kitchen so thoughtfully equipped it all but insists you prepare a supper of local scallops and potatoes, and a space just right for two, or perhaps three, to recalibrate after a day among the fog, heath and heather.

Nearby, the pleasures are steeped in that peculiar magic of the Highlands: hikes around Kenmore, pebbled beaches, narrow garden paths, and winding single-lane roads.

And then there is Jenny, the host: kind, attentive, present when needed and invisible when not — the sort of neighbor one rarely has in real life, and never forgets in retrospect. We count ourselves lucky, not only to have found the cottage, but to have found this corner of the world.

We visit Scotland several times a year always staying in private Self Catering. After much searching looking for our next accommodation I found wilderness Cottages, communication/customer service with them has been 100% exceptional.
Appletree has everything you could possibly need, the owner Jenny has thought of everything even down to providing beach towels and picnic ware for eating outside on the decking.
The shower is wonderfully hot, the bed firm but comfortable, the kitchen equipt to cook a full meal and a comfortable living area.
Wifi provided howver I did enable my VPN due to being a community wifi, but had no issues with this speed wise.
Jenny has provided full information and leaflets for local exploration.
The View ! its outstanding, a lovely deck at the rear to enjoy sea and mountain views, A patio to the front for garden views but head up to the top of the garden and the panoramic views out to sea and the mountains and islands beyond are amazing.
By far one of our most favourite accommodations we have ever stayed so much so we re arranged our September Scotland holiday to return to to Appletree Studio.

We had a fantastic stay at Appletree Studio. It is a beautiful house and our host Jenny had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and with everything we would need. The house is set in the most wonderful location looking out over Loch Torridon and the mountains. Would thoroughly recommend Appletree Studio.
Thank you Jenny.
