The Gaelic name for the area of Applecross is “a Chomraich” which means “The Sanctuary”. The food lover is well catered for with some excellent places to eat locally. Both the Applecross Walled Garden and the Applecross Inn (13 miles) offer freshly caught seafood and local produce. In Sheildaig, Tigh an Eilean Hotel is a 30 minute drive where there is a relaxed friendly bar and an adjoining restaurant serving food of a high standard. Slightly further afield the Kishorn Seafood Bar is one of the areas’ best kept secrets or for a special occasion there is the luxury of The Torridon. For provisions Shieldaig and Lochcarron both have small supermarkets and a smaller shop is available in Applecross.
