Leachachan Cottage is situated in an enviable position beside Loch Duich and enjoys incredible panoramic views over the loch and towards the Five Sisters of Kintail. The location is an ideal base for exploring, whether crossing the bridge and visiting the Isle of Skye, enjoying the Gleshiel mountains to the south, or perhaps travelling north towards Applecross and Torridon.
Inside, the property certainly has the wow factor, with views of the loch from almost every window. Stylishly furnished and equipped to a high standard throughout, the sitting room features a vaulted ceiling and a large picture window, ideally positioned to take in the views of the loch and the ever-changing scenery. The dining room offers the perfect place to sit and relax over dinner after a day of exploring, and its adjacent kitchen is well-equipped with all the usual appliances.
The property features two en-suite bedrooms, with the first located on the ground floor. This spacious room offers views of the loch and features direct access to the garden through patio doors. The bedroom is stylishly furnished, and quality bed linen and towels are supplied. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with a shower over.
Adjacent to the sitting room is a cloakroom, complete with a WC and a washbasin. Completing the facilities on this level is a small utility room with a washer/dryer. Outside, there are various places to sit and relax. The main part of the garden is enclosed, although care should be taken with any guests who have young children, due to its close proximity to the loch.
From the sitting room, stairs lead to the upper level, which features a small reading area and a second en-suite bedroom. This bedroom features traditional coombed ceilings and is tastefully furnished with high-quality bed linen. This en-suite has a large walk-in shower and outside an adjacent area with a dressing table and storage.
History buffs will be blown away by Dun Telve and Dun Troddan. The remains of these enormous Iron Age brochs are found in Glenelg on the western coast of the peninsula.
At over 2000 years old, these structures have stood the test of time and still have intact spiral staircases within their walls. Glenelg is also the launching point for a tiny ferry that carries cars and their passengers in a 15-minute crossing over to the Isle of Skye.
On the other side of Loch Duich stands the eye-catching Eilean Donan Castle. Sitting atop a small island jutting out into the loch, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, Eilean Donan claims to be Scotland’s Most Photographed Castle. Treat yourself to freshly baked organic bread and delicious home bakes from the fairy tale cabins of Manuela’s Wee Bakery. Heading further north is the largest town of the region, Kyle of Lochalsh. Here, you can stock up on groceries before crossing the bridge for the overland route to the Isle of Skye.

The perfect cottage in the perfect location. There are no negatives about this place, it is absolutely magnificent. The accomodation is spotlessly clean and feels brand new and perched on the side of the loch with fantastic views of The Five Sisters of Kiintail. This place is so comfortable and Fann and Murdoch have paid attention to every little detail. This was our second visit and it won't be our last.
Two of us stayed a week. Beautiful place to stay. Warm, spacious, good bed, quality bed linen, towels and soaps, alongside eco cleaning products. Clipper tea and filter coffee provided.
Immaculately clean.
Great views from downstairs bedroom, sitting area, dining area- the loch and five sisters of Kintail. Perfect for artists and those wanting solitude. 4 great deck chairs for those wanting a garden seat.
There is a small fish farm on loch, but minimal noise or disruption to enjoyment.
Badgers, deer and pine martens came to visit us at dusk ( bring food) , alongside herons, seals on the loch.
No TV, or microwave oven, but not a miss for us. We had a lovely time
We had an amazing stay at this cottage. The views are fantastic and we had visits from the local pine martin (we were organised and had peanuts with us!). The cottage itself is beautifully and stylishly designed, with thoughtful touches throughout
Cottage was absolutely perfect, credit to the owners who have made it so special. Locations is out of this world looking towards five sisters, was lucky enough to see some white hats on them too. Weather was great all week.
Barnie the Badger turned up every evening without fail to be fed his favorite peanuts which was a great experience, no pine marten this time. Loved cottage and location so much rebooked for another stay latter part of year. Can't wait to return.
We had the most perfect week in Leachachan cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and everything you could need is available. It has been perfectly converted and it gives you access to the most amazing views. The sofas, beds and chairs are all really comfy and the decor is all 1st class. Our host for the week Tatyana was super helpful and shared info throughout our stay, we really appreciated her. We had perfect weather Scottish weather, rain, wind and heavy snow; with the aurora borealis thrown in. We also spotted herons, countless deer and stags, sea otters and seals. Couldn't have asked for a better week. We will definitely return. Thanks again.
We had a very relaxing stay in this beautifully renovated cottage. It had everything we needed to cook and make ourselves comfortable, although the sofa was quite firm, being a sofa bed. The underfloor heating was very much appreciated. The view was stunning and ever changing. We enjoyed the garden, apple trees and feeding the birds on the picnic table. We walked local to the loch, at Sandaig and the Herring path from Corran, cycled along Loch Long and visited some of the Brochs too. The generous welcome gifts of local chocolates and your card were lovely touches as were the supply of local soaps, tea, coffee and milk. We used the downstairs shower over bath as the upstairs shower had fluctuating pressure. Overall we had a lovely time in this very special place and would recommend.
