Leachachan Cottage
A light, airy, well equipped and tastefully furnished cottage with a homely feel. In a quiet location right at the edge of Loch Duich with stunning views. Highly recommended.

Strone
Everything was fine, nice place to stay. Very close to Loch Ness.A very pleasant surprise when we arrived : bread, wine, cake and milk was in the cottage for us!!!
Seascape Cottage
Seascape is a fantastic holiday cottage that exceeded our expectations. The location was superb, with stunning views of the sea and the hills. We loved walking on the two nearby beaches, which were clean and sandy. Our dog also had a great time on the beach and in the sea, running, digging and splashing around. The cottage itself was cozy and well equipped, with everything we could ask for. The hosts were very kind and generous, greeting us with a delicious welcome pack with local products and sharing some of their homegrown rhubarb with us. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at Seascape and would definitely come back again.
Jura
Jura Cottage is located on the Applecross peninsula and has a most incredible view of the mountains. The location is perfect. The cottage itself is a typical cottage of the area with a lovely veranda which can be used when it is not raining. When it is, it is too cold unless one uses blankets which were not available in the cottage (at least none which were not eaten by the moths). The cottage is heated with electric heaters which work well, however it does mean that one comes home to a cold house which for us was not so good as it rained a lot and basically it was cold all the time. It is not possible to take a nice shower after a cold day in the rain, because the shower has very little pressure and a thin stream comes out. Certainly not enough to wash hair. The cottage was dark (which is to be expected of a traditional cottage), but did not feel very clean. There was no welcome package, so we did not know where to find the internet code or how to things worked. Fortunately a friendly neighbour helped us out. The cottage had a lovely fireplace and enough wood for two days. That was really nice. All in all, this cottage has potantial but a lot needs to be done. Throw out the 50 year old moldy books, give it a REALLY good clean (and clean it regularly), get rid of all the carpets which do not feel too clean either and generally prepare it for guests. We did have a lovely time, but the cottage did not contribute too much to that.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and feedback on Jura. We are glad to hear you had a lovely time however disappointed to hear about the cleanliness within the property. As Wilderness Cottages are the booking agents we have contacted the owner with your comments for their consideration. Update - Owners wanted to thank you for your comments and would like to assure you that they have addressed the issues you have raised.
Port Elgol Cottage
Spent the most perfect week in this special little cottage. The weather was at its typical Skye best , wet and blustery. However Port Elgol Cottage looked after us. Everything you could possibly imagine had been thought about. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the view to wake up to spectacular. The kitchen was well supplied for cooking either a simple snack or main meal. Spotlessly clean and full of character. I felt a huge sadness leaving Port Elgol , we had the perfect week and will definitely return I cannot give this wonderful little home a high enough rating .
Tigh-na-Craobh (The Tree House)
The Tree House was extremely clean and modern. No carpets and large windows. The hosts did everything to make guests feel comfortable. A lovely welcome package with shortbread and wine, games, a wonderful wood stove and a well equipped kitchen. And well located, near Portree but in the countryside and near the see. We loved staying at the Tree House.
White-Tail Croft
Fantastic cottage with good amenities, and care and attention to detail, well supplied with essentials for our stay. James the owner, and Wilderness cottages kept us up to date with the situation regarding the water supply to the property ensuring it had no impact on our stay. All in all a great cottage that we would happily stop in again.
Campbell House
We had a fantastic week at Campbell House in Shieldaig. The property was spacious, well-equipped, clean and tidy, and enjoys fabulous views of the island. Seeing the sea eagles on a kayak trip and enjoying the many walks around the area were particular highlights - and the pub/restaurant is only 30 seconds away! And a visit to Nanny's cafe is essential (great coffee and bacon rolls!) The owners were very quick to resolve a minor issue we had, and we would recommend this property to anyone. Would love to return.
Stable Cottage
Stayed at stable cottage lochnaw Castle beginning of June for 4 nights. It has everything you could possible want for your comfort. The Owners of the castle gave permission for us to tour the grounds and Castle. They even even lent us the gardener to show us around .We are Discovering our Family tree and it was amazing to find out about our past. The stable cottage is in the Woods by the Castle and loch.It is so peaceful .We were blessed by wonderful weather and we would sit in the Courtyard with our drinks in the evening. We saw so many Birds I hadn't seen before Deer are common .The castle is situated 3 miles from Stranraer.Port patrick and the Mull of Galloway are near by.Perfect base for visiting West Coast. We are hoping to make this Beautiful place a yearly thing it was so lovely.
Matheson's Croft House
Superb location and the cottage (croft) is well equipped. Beautiful views across the loch. Cooking with the Aga was fun and a bit of an art form. The last 50m of track looks challenging but is easily passable. It was an ideal base for exploring Skye. One minor plea, a small welcome pack of tea/coffee and milk would welcome and is common amongst other properties of this standard.

High Tor House
The cottage was perfect for location, peace and tranquility. We spent our honeymoon there and it was ideal for what we wanted. Although remote it was only a short drive to beaches, shops and other attractions. The amenities in the cottage were excellent and in immaculate condition. The view from the balcony was fantastic and a great place to chill out and relax. Would use again if ever revisiting Harris. Hosts were very welcoming.

The Coltsfoots
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at the Coltsfoot and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. Near enough to Fort Augustus to walk into the centre within 5/10 minutes, but when you return to the Coltsfoot it really does feel like miles away from anywhere, which was exactly what we wanted. Lovely walks straight from the door, nice pubs and cafes in Fort Augustus but also very easy access to drive around the Highlands to get to see things further afield. The Coltsfoot was immaculate inside and out and had everything we needed for our stay (Two showers rooms as well, which is a luxury we definitely don't have at home!) 5 Stars! We'd definitely go back.
Grain Store
We really enjoyed our stay in The Grain Store. The accommodation was spacious, extremely comfortable and clean. The views were gorgeous in every direction and we loved the banks of wild flowers. It was our first time to this region of Scotland and there was plenty to expore locally so it's a great base away from the more crowded areas. Thank you for the welcome pack of goodies too. We came with our dog and we found it to be an easy place to have her, with the uncarpeted floors as we could sweep through easily. All in all, a wonderful restful place to be, especially in the glorious weather we were fortunate enough to coincide with. Many thanks.

Seabank Cottage
Seabank Cottage is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Lochcarron, Plockton, Applecross and Skye areas. Being the only cottage right on the shore side of the road, we spent most of our time, while in the cottage, looking out the small picture window from the kitchen right across the Loch at the wildlife and scenery, using the two pairs of binoculars kindly provided in the cottage. The cottage is comfortable, with a superb power shower, and is well positioned in the village of Lochcarron for all eating establishments and the local mini supermarket. A bonus for us with our electric car is that there is an EV charger again just a few steps along the road, so we started every morning with a full tank of electricity!
Matheson's Croft House
Lovely cottage with a fantastic view! You have to go outside to get the best view though. We saw deer nearly every day. Usually very early in the morning and it's very important to not make any noise. We also saw an otter in the water(binoculairs) AND a small group of porpoises one evening! It's a lovely & quiet place. Kyle of Lochalsh was a bit of a disappointment. But for a nice bite to eat you can go to The Clachan in Dornie. You have to make a reservation though. Eilean Donan Castle is a must as it's very nearby and it's worth the visit. There are a few lovely walks in the neighbourhood. It was lovely to be able to cook on a Rayburn. Our advice is to extend the worktop on the left side of the sink, it would make it more workable to do the washing-up. There is no dishwasher, which was a bit of a bummer(but we knew that beforehand). But there were not enough glasses so we kept having to wash the same glasses all the time. And that's not particularly a nice thing to do while on holiday. We had asked the caretaker on our second day there if we could get more water-& whisky glasses. We did get the whisky glasses, but never got the water glasses. The bed was fine but the double duvet was not wide enough for 2 people. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. And we can recommend this cottage to anyone who seeks rest, wildlife and a fantastic view. Adrian & Harriet (from Holland)

Thank you very much for your feedback, it has been very helpful. There are now additional glasses and a new duvet in the cottage. Thank you
Cedar Cottage
Fabulous cottage in a fantastic location. We had a really lovely week with everything we needed and accompanied daily by red squirrels, great spotted woodpeckers and too many other bird species to mention. Great for our dogs too as forest walks straight from the door and many lovely beaches nearby for them to cool off with a swim. The cottage was spotless on arrival, very well equipped and a lovely welcome pack surprise. Thank you for sharing this delightful place with us.
Udrigle House
We loved Udrigle House. The house is clean, spacious, and has a lot of character. The location is perfect; a few feet from the shoreline with a view of magnificent mountains across the bay. We watched otters just outside the house and in the next bay along every day. There are two lovely beaches within walking/cycling distance of the house. We hope to stay here again in the not too distant future.
Shellach Cottage
Shellach Cottage is well equipped, homely and comfortable. Lochcarron itself is an extremely pleasant village with a good range of local facilities in comparison with much of the Highlands so it makes a very good base to stay in, offering opportunities for both serious walkers with transport and less energetic visitors who can walk from the cottage or after a very short drive. Plockton, Sheildaig and Applecross all offer scenic (and in Applecross's case dramatic) outings and Skye is also in easy reach within an hour by car. We enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Shellach, and when we had one random glitch we found the local caretaker and the owner to be very helpful and proactive. We recommend the cottage unreservedly.
Upper Folds
Amazing place, been there 6 times now and will definitely go again and again
Ardbeg
What a beautiful house with stunning views. We stayed a week and could not find fault. The view out to see is unspoiled and luckily the weather was great. We will certainly return.
The Coltsfoots
Another wonderful stay at the amazing Coltsfoots log cabin, stayed for a week with our 2 friends from Bavaria Germany. The Coltsfoot is absolutely fully equipped with everything it's like home from home, just need to take food & drink and that's it your ready to holiday & relax. We all had a great time sitting on the verandah relaxing in the sunshine, we also had 2 thunderstorms which were amazing to watch while still sat on the verandah, remaining dry undercover from the high roof. The area of the gardens and stream are also beautiful, and listening and watching to all the different birds and sounds from them all is so relaxing. There is also so much to do and see in the nearby area, sitting in the beer garden at the pub by the side of the Caledonian canal is lovely. Can't wait to return hopefully next year. The owners are so welcoming and friendly nothing is too much trouble for them to help you out.

Coorie
Had a fantastic holiday at Coorie in Skye. Beautiful house with amazing views and definitely with a bit of luxury. Had seven days of sunshine on Skye in a wonderful location. Idyllic.
Sixgeary
Lovely cottage, very well equipped with wonderful views over Loch Snizort Excellent kitchen with panoramic window leading to small decking area Ideally situated for touring the north west of Skye
Oak Cottage
I can confirm the many positive comments. The house is immaculate, in presentation, cleanliness and equipment. The best bit however is the constant wildlife show out of the living room window. We had daily visits from the red squirrels, red deer and many birds, with lovely views of the siskins. A family of roe deer, couple plus youngster, showed up once as did a pine marten and a crazy gang of hungry weasels which caused enormous consternation. Finally, the house has many beautiful walks within a half-hour's drive. Fully recommended.
Ardbeg
My husband, dog and I had the pleasure of staying in a beautiful house called Ardbeg in Gairloch and had an absolutely wonderful time. From our initial booking to our arrival the process was smooth and trouble free. The house is elevated and has uninterrupted views over the bay from the open plan lounge/ dining room / kitchen, snug room and master bedroom. It was well equipped with superior furniture and soft furnishings. Everything had been thought of to make our stay as comfortable and pleasurable as possible. I would have no hesitation in recommending Wilderness Cottages to anyone and Ardbeg too. I didn't want to leave!
The Granary
Our second visit to this lovely cottage and first time with our dog. Mairi and Paul were friendly and accommodating hosts (especially when our car broke down!) and the cottage was as welcoming and ideally situated as we remembered it. Had some fabulous walks from the door in Urquhart Bay Woods and further afield at Rogie Falls and saw dolphins at Chanonry Point. For dog friendly places to eat can recommend Fiddlers Fish and Chip Van, the Loch Ness Inn and the Snow Goose in Inverness ( dog friendly spaces need to be pre-booked at the latter two). A wonderful break with glorious weather . Definitely on our list of places to return to one day!
Braehead Steading
superb week at Breahead Steading, the weather was so kind to us, wall to wall sunshine and hot for 7 days. The cottage is spacious and very clean, the garden was super and our boxer dog really enjoyed the secure and large grassed garden. The surrounding area and Ballater Village are truly special, and a visit to Braemar was also brilliant. Dependant on the time of the year we managed to visit Balmoral Castle which was excellent. cottage has everything you could need for catering, there were only 2 of us and our dog, but the house is massive and has a lot of bedrooms and bathrooms. Lovely sitting out every evening having a craft beer and a dram. Thanks
Shore Cottage
Our 3rd visit to Shore Cottage, and we will be back! The bed is super comfortable and the cottage is spotless and has everything you need for a week's stay.

We had a fabulous week at Seascape cottage. It's clean and well equipped, providing everything we needed for an unforgettable holiday.
Stoer Lodge
We had a fabulous week - lovely cottage, great spot, and we were blessed with very sunny weather (end May to early June).
Cedar Cottage
Cedar Cottage is the most perfect cottage for those wanting a bit of isolation. It's up a forest track, only a handful of houses about 5 mins away. There is an abundance of Birdlife and DAILLY sightings in the garden of red squirrels. We had 3 at one time one morning. Forres only a few miles away. Large supermarket (Tesco) If required. The cottage is well equipped and VERY clean. It's quite simply perfect!

Shore Cottage
Absolutely beautiful location. Rustic cottage which completely suited our needs. Seclusion was great and the beach was ours to roam alone. Cottage has everything you'll need. Views across to the Northern Irish coast are stunning along with the local beauty. Cannot rate the place highly enough. My family and I (we have 2 teenage daughters) loved every minute. Wilderness Cottages were amazing throughout, great communication and very helpful. Brilliant.
Seal Skerry Lodge
Seal Skerry Lodge is in a perfect setting and the wonderful architectural design and furnishings really make the most of its position. We enjoyed using the telescope watching the seals. All the appliances worked well although we thought there weren't enough kitchen utensils, cutlery, dishes, pots and pans etc. Given there's a dishwasher, we had to wash up regularly between dishwasher use. Regarding cleanliness within the property, we felt this slightly fell short of what we had expected for a holiday let of this standard. Perhaps the owners need to think about more time allocation for the housekeeper, and also allocating time for a deep clean every so often.

Ceol na Mara
My son and I had a brilliant week at Ceol na Mara - what an amazing place to be on the banks of Loch Kishorn. We adored the venue and enjoyed lots of walks from the cottage. The cottage itself was perfect for us and very clean, welcoming and comfortable. Our host left us flowers, chocolates and shortbread too! It is a magical place and for us, totally wonderful.
White-Tail Croft
White Tail Croft is a special place. It is in the moorland outside Portree, Isle of Skye, providing stunning views of the countryside (including many sheep and lambs), with eagles, raptors and many other birds floating on the air currents. The cottage itself is quite lovely, modern and includes all the necessary amenities. If a peaceful holiday is what you desire, this is the place.
