The Granary
House was perfect for our family of four. Garden with bbq and fire pit (and red squirrels) was amazing. Family/owners beside us couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
Tor Fionn
Matheson's Croft House
An absolutely wonderful cottage, cute, romantic, and well-decorated with a good shower and comfy beds. The garden is full of wildlife, and has the most astounding view over Loch Alsh- you can see Eileen Donan Castle lit up at night, and watch terns fishing in the day. The scenery and local walks are glorious. Ten out of ten all round.
Ceol na Mara
The cottage at Loch Kishorn was great - very well-equipped, clean and comfortable. The views over the loch from the living room and patio garden were truly outstanding.
Pier Head
Beautiful location with a very well equipped, comfortable and well kept house. This was a second visit and we will book again if we go back to the sheildaig area.
Easter Knocklea Cottage
Easter Knocklea was not only a wonderful property to hunker down in but also a great springboard in which to explore the Cairngorm and Moray. The property is elevated with views out and no other house can be seen within the vista in front of you. A really comfortable, well-considered house with many rooms for guests to spread out and find areas either to be quiet in or come together. Spotless, considered and hidden away from the hubbub; book it if you can.
Cuaig Croft
Ceol na Mara
We loved Ceol na Mara warm and cosy very clean and all we needed for our stay.. The view from the window was amazing especially one evening when five beautiful stags walked along he beach in front of the cottage perfect for photography, we would be very happy to return, thankyou. Our two small dogs loved it too
Fon Tobar
Swallow Byre
Jane was the perfect host, very pleasant and informative. Swallow Byre was a lovely cottage with all you need and ideal location for the area. The treats were a lovely touch! Thank you Jane
Callakille
Burnside cottage is a real gem of a cottage! It has wonderful views from both the kitchen diner and the living room across to the isles of Rassay, Rona and Skye. Well equipped, clean and comfortable with a wood burning stove, all ready prepared with logs, if it became chilly. The bathroom must have one of best views in the UK! This an ideal place for getting away from it all: the village shops at Applecross and Shieldaig stock local smoked salmon and the inn at Applecross and the Walled Garden are great places to eat. We would thoroughly recommend it!
The Challey at Heathcote
Leachachan Barn
A wonderful house - just as light and airy as it appears in the photos. A very quiet part of the Highlands, but with easy access to Skye, Plockton and Glenelg. Very well equipped and comfortable too. Totally recommended.
Port Elgol Cottage
Both the cottage and the agency exceeded our expectations, and we had a great week. From the wheelbarrow arrival to the comfortable beds, to the extraordinary view over to the Cuillin ridge, the house was great, and we would recommend it to anyone, though probably more to adult groups than to groups with kids who get easily bored.
Don Cottage
Charleston
Wonderful stay beautiful place and wonderful scenery, our 4 th stay in Charleston and hope to stay again ????
The Mill
Me and my boyfriend had such a wonderful stay at The Mill. The place is so beautiful with stunning views, especially with the massive window at the front! Julie and Phil are so lovely and were really helpful. I couldn't recommend this place any more, what a fab relaxing week we had, wish we could have stayed longer!
Ardrannach
We stopped for a week at Ardrannach cottage in Torvaig, Portree. I am not exaggerating when I say it is best holiday we have had in a very long time. The location was spot on. Views from the window spectacular, proximity to Portree, perfect and host, Andrew, friendly and welcoming. Skye is a magical place to be and we will be back!!
Log House
We had a fantastic time at Log House. Perfect base for days out sightseeing and great evenings sitting on the decking enjoying the quiet unspoilt scenery. Will definitely look to book through Wilderness Cottages for our next holiday
Tor Cottage
We have just returned home after a wonderful week at Tor Cottage. The facilities are excellent, and the views unbeatable. Ruth and John are great hosts - there if you need them, but unobtrusive. They have lots of local knowledge which they share willingly - be it places to go, things to do or where to eat Highlights - the magnificent beaches, some lovely meals and the wildlife. Recommended 1 The boat trip to Shiant Isles (St Kilda Cruises Tarbert) 2 Walks along Luskentyre and Sellebost beaches 3 Best meals Anchorage Leverburgh - great seafood; Scarista House - not cheap but top quality food 4 Coffee shops in short supply best coffee Tala Na Mara All in all a memorable trip, hopefully to be repeated.
Easter Knocklea Cottage
Beautiful cottage set in delightful surroundings with amazing views. Very tastefully furnished throughout. Walks from the doorstep. Truely and wonderfully remote. I didn't see another human for the whole time I was there, which was just what I wanted!
Marnie's Croft
Port Elgol Cottage
Stunning location for a holiday, fantastic views and helped by lovely weather. Comfortable cottage with everything you will need. At 6'3" I found the shower a little restricted, but my wife was OK. The location and ability to relax, watching the tide come and go make up for any small shortcomings with the cottage.
Stable Cottage
Great cottage and location. Loved all the wildlife and peacefulness.
The Coltsfoots
We stayed at the Coltsfoots in June 2021. We loved the cottage, the location is great, very private and quiet and just a 10 minutes walk into Fort Augustus. Lovely large bedrooms each with an en suite. Both bedrooms had lots of storage for clothes. The kitchen was well equipped and the sitting room was cosy. Wifi was good. The wildlife was nice to see, birds and red deer.
Charleston
Charleston is an immaculate, spacious and comfortable bungalow. The views are fantastic, overlooking lochs and the surrounding mountains. The wildlife was interesting with red kites flying overhead, a semi-resident hare in the garden and red deer loping across the moorland outside the gate. It was fairly remote and the first part of the access road was rather challenging. But overall a lovely place.
Roseville
We stayed here for a week in June it is a really beautiful home from home where every amenity was provided for. We all enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return again in the future.
The Coltsfoots
Fourth visit to this property. Fantastic location, superb well maintained log cabin. Easy distance of village. Friendly owners. Would recommend for a relaxing or touring holiday. We will return in the future.
Score Bay Cottage
Balachladdich
A spacious and clean house, plenty of room for family, wonderful weather.
Cameron's Cottage
Cameron's Cottage is in a great location with a range of walks and places to visit nearby. The house itself is spacious and comfortable and accommodated our party of six easily.
Fersit Log Cottage
Loch Cottage
Lovely location
Callakille
We all had an enjoyable holiday, good to get away. The cottage met all our expectations and would recommend it. The cottage was very clean and we found everything we needed for our stay. Wonderful views, lambs and highland cattle all around us. We were lucky in having sunny weather for our stay.
Katie's Cottage
Wow! What a perfect place. We needed somewhere to just unwind and Katie's cottage was perfect. THE most comfortable bed in a rental ever. Perfectly equipped. Presume TV works, we didn't even try to turn it in. Felt like we were in the Alps with great hill views and sheep at the door. Very very quiet location but great for exploring north west of the island. First time to Scottish islands but already planning next trip.
Reyflat Barn
The cottage is in a beautiful location, ideal for exploring the black isle. It is very clean and comfortable and much more spacious than it looks from the website. It is in a private location in the countryside, we saw deer from the kitchen window several days. Pat, the host, was extremely pleasant and helpful. We loved our week here and would unreservedly recommend staying here
Swallow Byre
Swallow Byre is an excellent little cottage in a wonderful position. I found it ideal for exploring the Assynt Crofters Estate and fly fishing on the Lochs.
Upper Folds
We had an absolutely wonderful week. The cottage is immaculate and incredibly comfortable. The location was great- we could walk and bike from the door and had several car free days. The Wilderness Cottages team were fantastic also - very helpful and super fast at responding. Couldn't rate both the place and wilderness cottages more highly
Cnoc Ard
Practical and relaxing accommodation with wonderful views. Everything just felt so easy and loved the location just a short walk away from amenities.
White-Tail Croft
This was a lovely property for the 3 of us. It's very remote and the drive up was a little precarious at times. Our only neighbours were the sheep and rabbits who visited us every day. Pity we never saw any deer. If the weather had of been nicer it would have been better.
The Orchids
Excellent accommodation. Very clean and well maintained. Had all the essentials needed during a break. Beautiful location. Highly recommended.
The Challey at Heathcote
The Barn, Corrimony
The Barn is a lovely holiday home, very spacious, comfortable and well equipped, with a good garden as well. We had a great week in early May, walking and cycling from the house. Lots to see and do further out as well. Mamie, the owner, is nearby if needed. Would love to return, highly recommend.
Sixgeary
First point: this is a secluded spot, so it's a reasonable drive to get to the main A-roads, but that shouldn't be an issue if you're heading to stay on Skye. View: We had great weather for several days (June) and the front windows look directly out to the bay across from Uig, this scenery is absolutely stunning! Even on the cooler days, the view is pleasant and peaceful. The cottage: We have stayed at Skye before, but Sixgeary is the best, the underfloor heating performed it's job independently and flawlessly, but on the one rainy day we used the log burner in the front room, which was cosy. Amenities : There is off-road driveway parking for 2 cars if required, a bath with toilet and sink downstairs and a shower with toilet and sink upstairs. There's a double room and a twin room upstairs which is bright, airy and modern. The kitchen is great as it has a top spec. oven/grill/microwave/hob and a great range of utensils. Dunvegan Castle and Coral beach are both within easy reach and Portree is 20 Miles away (half an hours steady drive). The Geary road is a nice walk and if you're lucky you might see wild deer on the moorland at the end like we did.
Marnie's Croft
Swallow Byre
Lovely cottage and Jane the owner is a wonderful host. Can't fault any aspect. Also, the team at Wilderness Cottages have been great under extremely difficult conditions due to Covid 19. Many thanks
Stable Cottage
Cottage was well appointed. It was comfortable, clean and warm. The location was excellent, within wooded grounds and close to the beach. We enjoyed walking sections of the Southern Upland Way and Mull of Galloway trail, as well as visiting local gardens, including Logan and Glenwhan. There were 4 people in our party and all had a great holiday. We couldn't fault the cottage and would recommend it as a place to stay to anyone visiting Stranraer.
