Red Kite Log Cabin
A lovely holiday - very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a quiet location near to Inverness. It was easy to drive to the west coast as well as the north.
Roseville
Perfect house with everything we could have wished for. Great location with excellent shop a few minutes walk away. Enjoyed excellent seafood meals from The Crofter's Kitchen down at the beach. Great location for visits to beaches - Balnakeil, Oldshoremore and Oldshorebeag. New cafe at Kinlochbervie harbour was excellent. Also enjoyed trips to Handa Island and Smoo Cave. And no midgies this week! Would love to return.
Sealight
4th visit! Says it all. Weather was kind all week. Pine Martens a little shy but did come daily. Beautiful house, great location, well appointed
Shellach Cottage
Nice cottage located at the outskirts of Lochcarron village, where you find supermarket, fuel station, cafes and restaurants, a small clinic and the famous Lochcarron Weavers at the other end. The house is large enough for 3 couples and has a well equipped kitchen, a sitting room and a dining room with a small table, with fireplaces in both. The cottage looks out over Loch Carron and the mountains on the other side. There are many places to visit, from Applecross and Ullapool to the isle of Skye. Private parking and a little brook coming down behind the house. 8-15 June 2024

Cnoc Ard
Clean and comfortable accommodation in Scourie with everything we needed including a log burning stove after a particularly wet walk. Scourie itself has a Spar - with a bar and a TV and basic bar food - next to the campsite, and a food truck down by the beach - Crofter's Kitchen - where you can buy gourmet food freshly sourced from the North West Highlands to eat outside there, or take back to your accommodation.
The Coltsfoots
We never have had such a beautiful cottage to stay in during our holiday. It was truly amazing.
Leachachan Cottage
What can i add all the previous reviews summaries this cottage Perfectly. We had rubbish weather but it did not detract from how special this place is and it's location. The pine marten is wonderful to witness and he/she is partial to a Piece of pork pie followed by grapes and apple .
Seascape Cottage
What a wonderful cottage with a fantastic view to the sea. Walks nearby are in the middle of the nature and a quite recovery is possible. And the owner are perfect hosts.

The Old Post Office
The Old Post Office is in a perfect spot, I was delighted to wake up to such a beautiful view every day of our stay. The bay has a constantly changing skyline depending upon the weather. The children loved being able to walk down to the beach and have a swim in their wetsuits. It is in a peaceful place and we were able to fully relax after a busy year. The cottage has been fully equipped for all sorts of cooking. It was spotless on arrival and there were detailed instructions on what we needed to know. I would highly recommend staying here as we had a very happy week!

Seal Skerry Lodge
Fantastic view, well equipped lodge. Large garden and dog friendly. Roomy and cosy
Seascape Cottage
Lovely secluded cottage, great views across to Ireland and several sandy beaches a couple of minutes from the front door. On the Rhins of Galloway route with a variety of opportunities to walk along the coast for miles. Very well equipped, super clean and cosy. Second visit and looking forward to being back next year.
Callakille
Epic scenery in a little peace of heaven. Our third stay here. If you're looking for peace, breathtaking scenery and a place to unwind. This is it.

Victoria Cottage
Victoria Cottage in Shieldaig. A lovely cosy cottage with the most magnificent outlook over the island and beyond out to ' The Minch '. On our arrival we all agreed how it felt so relaxed and homely the moment you stepped inside. It was as if we had come to visit a relative who lives in this stunning fishing village and they had just nipped out to get some food shopping while we unpacked our clothes. The cottage has everything you need for a family holiday in a stunning part of Scotland. The photos do not do this cottage justice. The kitchen may be small , but has more than enough of all the necessary utensils, crockery, glasses and electrical devices required by a family away from home. Good quality microwave, fridge , toaster and a really powerful cooker to prepare any meals. BONUS ****** There is even a great utility room at the the rear of the cottage, were you can take off wet coats and dirty boots, as well as towelling down a sea water drenched dog. This room also contains an additional large modern fridge freezer, so there are no worries keeping all your food and drinks chilled or frozen during your stay. Both the lounge and dining room are great for families to eat , chat and relax. We all found the beds to be extremely comfortable. I don't believe that anyone couldn't get a great nights sleep in this charmingly homely place. Stunning views from all windows. Spectacular sunsets. Peace and Quiet WIFI was excellent for anyone who needs to keep in touch. This really is a superb place to stay if you don't want to feel like a tourist. The Cherry on the Cake Moment Around early dusk, while we all sat chatting in the dining room. To our surprise a beautiful Pine Marten appeared right outside the cottage between the grass and rocks . It didn't appear to be in the least bothered by us when we made our way outside to watch its movements. In fact this shy elusive animal seemed to stop a few times to look at us ? It carried on in and out along and underneath the rocks apparently looking for some fresh local seafood. This happened twice during our weeks stay.
Upper Folds
Exceeded expectations - this is an absolutely fantastic little place. Everything is so well done and real thought has gone into the place. Very remote and a 4x4 is definitely needed to get there but it's worth it, I will be returning!
Cedar Cottage
Another fantastic week at Cedar Cottage. Once again we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in this perfect secluded cottage. We enjoyed the beautiful walks straight from the cottage with our dogs as well as being able to watch the daily antics of the red squirrels, great spotted woodpeckers, jays and too many other bird species to mention in the garden. Thank you for sharing this beautiful haven with us which is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area too.
Tor Cottage
We love Tor cottage, our second visit and Ruth and John always make you feel so welcome. The house is simply beautiful and the location stunning, I could sit for hours just looking out to sea. Really comfy beds and furniture and all the amenities you need, what more could you ask for .
Poulary Cottage

White-Tail Croft
As many have said before, this is a truly wonderful place. Remote location but with all mod cons and supremely comfortable. The only sound comes from the wind and the birds.....and the odd bleat! Having visited every corner of Skye, I recommend the boat trip to Loch Coruisk via Elgol and the beach near Point of Sleat. And of course walks around the Quiraing. After a day's sight seeing it was always pleasing to return to this special oasis of peace and quiet and just relax, watching Clive (the rabbit) skipping around the croft. No deer this time though, I shall have to return.
Seascape Cottage
We had a great week in Seascape Cottage. Loved the seascape which changed from hour to hour. The cottage is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The Rhins of Galloway are unspoilt and quiet. Like Cornwall 50 yrs ago. Thank you to Sarah for the lovely welcome pack and for being a great hostess.
The Granary
A lovely comfortable place to stay. The Granary is very homely and well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beds and bedding were super comfortable and we all slept incredibly well. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a super week with our daughter and son-in-law with some lovely weather The Granary was a lovely base to explore this amazing area. Applecross Pass and a trip to Skye were highlights. If going to Skye the ferry is a must. We used the bridge on the way back. We had a lovely cruise on Loch Ness. The Deli in Drumnadrochit is a great place for a breakfast and their cake selection is something else! Would highly recommend
The Old Post Office
We had a brilliant stay at The Old Post Office. The property has been renovated to an extremely high standard with attention to detail. Clashnessie is a very special place , the view of Clashnessie Beach.and Chrona Island from the panoramic window in the gable end is mesmerising. The property is as described on the website, well equipped kitchen . Smart TV,bedroom linens of a good quality .Lots to see and do outdoors in the area.We especially enjoyed a day on Handa Island , the beaches and coastal walks.
Seascape Cottage
Thoroughly recommend if you want peace and tranquility. We didn't want to go anywhere else it was so, so restful and just what we needed. So collected food from Morrisons and we ate in! Made properly welcome by Sarah, even our 2 boisterous dogs. There's no garden so have to accompany dogs at all times as access to farm further up the lane. However, the track opposite, the coves and surrounding areas are fantastic for them and nobody else there! It really is a 2 min walk. The pictures make it look further. Cottage was comfortable, light and airy and well equipped. It's small and yet we managed to relax with 3 of us, the dogs and very mixed weather! Bumpy lane was no problem for us as we're used to the Shropshire roads! Only thing I could think was needed, by us, was mirrors in the bedrooms. Otherwise plenty of storage. The cottage is very well thought out. Thank you so much Sarah for making it so enjoyable.

Seabank Cottage
This was our first time staying in Seabank Cottage and we would not hesitate to come back! The cottage has everything you could need for your stay, plus the outstanding location and view from the kitchen window. The team at Wilderness Cottages, who helped me find the right property, were so friendly and helpful too. I would recommend using them to anyone! All in all, a great experience and a wonderful week in the Highlands!
Upper Folds
It was just perfect. The location is truly beautiful and the cottage is comfortable, warm and welcoming. Safe garden to let the dogs roam around, best place we've ever stayed.
Leachachan Barn
This is our second visit to Leachachan Barn and found it to be as good as we remembered it. The barn is very light and airy, well stocked with all the equipment and comforts you might need. It has fantastic views across the Loch to the Mountains, it has good parking, wi -fi, and a secure garden. Would definitely recommend it.
Plodda Falls Lodge

Ardbeg
I have stayed at Ardbeg many times over the past few years, which says it all. It is beautifully presented, immaculately clean, and has every convenience In the kitchen, and the rest of the house. The views from the balcony are breathtaking, especially at sunset, as it faces west. It is in easy reach of many walks, and good touring opportunities. There is a well-stocked supermarket in walking distance as well as cafes and a Chinese takeaway. The village of Gairloch offers sea trips for wildlife spotting. There are also several restaurants and cafes for meals, which are within 5/10 miles, reasonable prices and family friendly. Wilderness staff are always available if needed, and dealing with them is a pleasure.
Old Lock Keepers Cottage
Another pearl amongst Wilderness Cottages collection! The cottage is very charming and well stocked, its location is ideal for boat watching, walking and cycling. We enjoyed the conservatory especially and our 2 dogs were more than content with their night time quarters in the utility room! We all left with lots of good memories (and midge bites!)
Eilean Mor Cottage
Wonderful little cottage with beautiful sea views. It was perfect for our holiday and we appreciated the kindness of previous guests who had left items in the spacious cupboard. It was beautifully clean with bunches of wild flowers to welcome us.
Victoria Cottage
Stunning location, well appointed comfortable cottage. Local amenities excellent. pub/hotel food very good as was Nanny's. Shame the sea eagles were on holiday also.
Oak Cottage
We've been to Oak Cottage twice now and both times were more than needed and totally recharged our batteries. The cottage itself , is a cosy wonderfully clean and well cared for base with a beautiful outlook. The facilities are great with a fabulously powerful shower to boot. The Eco friendly aspect really appeals to us too. Although there are other cottages near it does feel totally private which for us is important. Tucked away and surrounded by amazing wildlife, nature and peace. Lovely walks and great places to visit-you can't need anything else if you're after an away from it all, that's also not isolated and a 10 minute drive from Killin. We're missing it already and are planning another stay.

Leachachan Cottage
This is an absolutely wonderful holiday cottage: the photos do not do it justice. The views across Loch Duich to the Five Sisters from dining and sitting areas are spectacular, even in bad weather. The under floor heating means that if you get wet and cold outdoors the house is always warm on your return. It is perfect for two couples as it has two double bedrooms each with a stylish en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with high quality crockery and appliances. We enjoyed having no TV, though appreciated the WiFi. There is a fish farm in the loch near Leachachan with some noisy activity on weekdays but it does not spoil the experience. Go if you can!
Ceol na Mara
We had a lovely time at Ceol na Mara. Wonderful to be so close to the sea. We saw porpoises three or four days in a row. The house was so comfortable, with everything thing we could possibly need and the owner was very helpful. It was a great base for various cycling trips including the obvious one over the Bealach. Many thanks.

Port Elgol Cottage
The cottage is beautiful, perfect setting, cosy, comfortable and well equipped, a real home from home feel. Would highly recommend a stay here!
Cnoc Ard
We enjoyed a lovely week at Cnoc Ard. Very comfortable house with everything we needed over our stay. Scourie and the surrounding area provided us with plenty to do and see despite the unseasonable weather. We managed to squeeze in a walk from Achfary to Kylestrome between worst of the weather fronts.
The Coltsfoots
This was our 3rd time at The Coltsfoots cabin and as always it was excellent. The owner came round and nice chat with him again very helpful man and friendly. I would definitely recommend anyone to go there, plus we will go back
Shellach Cottage
A lovely traditional cottage of great character in a quiet location on the outskirts of Lochcarron but only a few minutes from the amenities of the village. The cottage itself was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
Upper Folds
Second time we have visited Upper folds superb cottage spotless , well equipped and good location , We will definitely be visiting again
Loch Cottage
There have been progressive improvements in the property in the last 2 years, which has made the stay even more enjoyable. The star is the new porch that is simply outstanding. There is a new outside covered area for inclement weather (which we have yet to experience at the cottage) on a new patio . The old bench is sadly gone., but perhaps a replacement is planned
Sixgeary
Great cottage, very clean & comfortable with superb views over Loch Snizort. It is in a wonderfully remote (but not isolated) location with great walks & wildlife from the door and easy access to the spectacular NW area of Skye We would definitely recommend this cottage.
Charleston
Charleston is the perfect home from home in the Highlands. This was our third visit and it doesn't disappoint. Whether you want to explore the wider area or stay closer to home, it's a good base. All the home comforts that you can think of too. The setting amongst the hills is perfect, beautiful views all around. Inverness is not far for shopping and exploring, as is Fort Augustus. Our two weeks were blessed with lovely sunny weather. The days are long, still reasonably light at 10pm. A photographer's paradise, so much to see. We saw a lot of local wildlife, from the red deer hinds to red kites, a male and female hen harrier. Then we saw three young cuckoos, all getting fed by meadow pipit parents. The grouse were very vocal but elusive and the curlews a delight, all seen from the bungalow. The blackface sheep and lambs in the pasture beside the garden were entertaining too, chasing each other about. Many thanks to the owners too, who helped out very promptly with a couple of minor issues. Lovely to meet you Iain and Elaine We're happy to thoroughly recommend Charleston to anyone considering choosing it as their holiday rental. Thanks also go to Wilderness Cottages for the help when booking.
Cedar Cottage
This was our 3rd visit and it never disappoints. It's idyllic and Tufty the Red Squirrel made a daily appearance. The cottage, is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Dog friendly enclosed garden. Mile and a half from nearest road but TESCO only 5 or 6 miles away.
